Week 15 of the 2021/22 EPL season saw Chelsea cop a potentially title-defining loss, while a beleaguered Newcastle have finally lodged three points.

Here’s how it looked for punters:

Blues pushed out

Such is the fine margins at the top this season, one loss has completely changed the complex of the title market. Chelsea’s unlucky defeat to an impressive West Ham on Saturday — despite starting $1.80 favourites — has seen them lengthen from $3.00 into $4.40 in Palmerbet’s EPL title market. Worse still, a last-minute winner from Divock Origi means Liverpool ($1.40 against Wolves) leapfrog them into second in the title market, now at $3.75. Manchester City’s clinical 3-1 win over Watford sees them shorten yet again, now into $1.53 for 2021/22 honours.

For the Hammers, though, they just keep on keeping on.

Three points at last

After 15 games this EPL season, Newcastle United finally have a win. While every other club had secured three points, it took a home game against Burnley to get off the mark in 2021/22. A shrewd Callum Wilson finish ensured Eddie Howe’s men got the points, and sees Newcastle shift from $1.45 to $1.72 to be relegated. Some respite at last.

The Magpies are now on equal footing with Watford ($1.72) to go down to the Championship next season.

Toffees’ stunning comeback

With just two points from their previous eight games, Rafa Benitez’s Everton side were under the pump heading into their Monday night clash against Arsenal. Unsurprisingly, they started as $3.50 outsiders. And, at 1-0 down against the Gunners with 12 minutes of normal time left, it looked as though the Toffees would finish this Matchday all the way down in 16th on the EPL table. However a quick-thinking Richarlison header ($3.50 anytime scorer) got them back in the contest in the 79th minutes, before a Demarai Gray ($5.00) stunner sealed three points in extra-time at Goodison Park. Instead of 16th, the win pushes them up to 12th, still with a whole lot of work to do.
