Racing expert, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his top three racing tips for the  Warwick Farm meeting. Good luck, punters!

Rai: Out 3m entire

Track: Heavy 9

Warwick Farm R1  2YO (fillies) Hcp 1100m

12:50 (AEST)

FIRST LUV has the experience of one run and a really sound one it was too. Finished 3rd in a very similar race. That should really make her a major player – providing she gets through the mud.

SNEAKY PAIGE is yet another one from that Mark Newnham winner factory. He just gets ’em ready to win and they often do. This filly won a trial recently and looked fast in doing so. Should jump and run here.

FALSETTO may improve here. Showed a lot of promise  in 2 trials and a 7th on debut in a similar race when wide most of the way.  got me.

Tip: FIRST LUV @ $4.70

Warwick Farm R2 – 2YO (males) 1100m

13:25 (AEST)

TUHINGA has the Chris Waller polish and did place in a similar race on debut. The wet track is the great unknown for all of these babies so pretty much bet with caution. Drawn well and everything points to a big run.

CLEMENCEAU is on debut here but is by sire sensation Capitalist and is coming into this with 2 barrier trial wins under his belt. Has been tried heavily also. Perfect draw helps. Big show.

DRAGONSTONE is on the improve after a terrific 3rd in a similar race on debut. Drawn a little wide so will need to find cover but looks to have talent.

 Tip: CLEMENCEAU @ $3.40

Warwick Farm R3 – BM64 (3YO fillies) 1200m

14:00 (AEST)

YESMEENA gets weight off all these and her form is not too bad having won her maiden at Eagle farm and then ran on ok when 4th at Wyong in a Class 1. Is very fit.

TASTEBUD drew deep last start when resuming and couldn’t find the front at any stage do for her to battle on and finish 3rd in this grade was quite commendable. Will strip a few lengths better for the run also. Big danger.

This may be a step up for SHOTGUN ALLI but gee she is game and is in sparkling form having won past two starts, latest at Gosford over 1300m in a Cl 1 in the wet. Will get back but should storm home.

Tip: SHOTGUN ALLI @ $6.60

Warwick Farm R4 – BM72 (3YO +) 1600m

14:35 (AEST)

So hard to work these races out with a wet and getting wetter track as the day rolls on. SPANISH POINT has the class on these but he has drawn wide. Saying that, he boasts very good wet track stats and his 3rd in this grade last start when 6th for home, suggested he might be back to his best. Respect.

TIME RAID won’t be afraid to lead these as he goes well on a heavy track and is n ow super fit. Off the inside draw here and with a 2kg claim make him a special to drive to the lead early and that is probably the best place to be in a race like this.

UNAMERICAN was a solid 4th when resuming in a similar race. Has talent. Second up this trip on such a wet track may be an issue but did win twice last campaign.

Tip: TIME RAID @ $4.70

Warwick Farm R5 – BM72 (3YO+) 1400m

15:10 (AEST)

MATOWATAKPE looks very hard to beat in this. He is 3rd up, is on his home track, seems back in better form, is down in grade on last start 6th and he loves the mud. That’s a potent combo.

DERBARI will greatly appreciate 3kg off his back in this. Is also on home track and his last start 3rd said he is back in cherry ripe form.

BRIARS KINGDOM is the query horse. Has raced 3 times thus far for 2 wins and all have been on wet tracks. This is harder than last start narrow Newcastle BM 64 win but he was on pace all the way and kept fighting.

 Tip: MATOWATAKPE @ $3.80

Warwick Farm R6 – BM72 (Females) 1100m

15:45 (AEST)

HIBISCUS LADY is no world-beater but gee she is honest. Is 3rd up here and gets a welcome 2kg claim to help. Was impressive late when 2nd this grade last start and has to strip fitter now. Rates highly.

FROZEN IN TIME is a smart mare in this grade. Was showing good talent placing regularly at this same BM level last campaign. Has trialled twice this time up and has looked very good both runs.

FORTINE SEEKER is well bred and has won 3 of 4 starts, her only defeat when leading on a heavy track in a very strong Saturday BM 72. Has had 3 not so impressive trials recently but her racing history suggests she is hard to beat.

Tip: HIBISCUS LADY @ $4.70

Warwick Farm R7 – BM72 (3YO+) 1200m

16:20 (AEST)

BRAZEN GEM was good enough when resuming and 5th in what may have been a slightly stronger race now that we have all these scratchings. Is on home track too.

Similarly, SILENT AGENDA who finished hard when beaten a length while fresh last start when resuming. May want further as he can stay but is on a wet track at home so could plug on better than most.

PROMISE OF SUCCESS is an English import who brilliantly won a much weaker race last start when resuming and at this stage of the day, on a very heavy track, that’s probably good enough form.

Tip: BRAZEN GEM @ $5.70
