GOLD CHARIOT looks ready to continue his rise through the grades after winning his past two starts in impressive fashion. The Price & Kent-trained gelding is still lightly raced with just five career runs, yet has already built a record of two wins and two seconds, suggesting he has a touch of class. Despite drawing barrier eight, he maps to settle prominently in a race lacking depth and gets the key booking of Blake Shinn.

FIELDELO looks well placed despite the long layoff. The Toby Lake-trained mare has only raced six times for two wins and two seconds, with both wins coming 1st-up. She was competitive in stronger company before going to the paddock. Drawn ideally in barrier five, she should get a soft run just off the speed and prove hard to hold out if she returns in the same form.

PERSIAN SPIRIT was our selection at $4.20 in Saturday’s Chautauqua Stakes before the meeting was abandoned, and we’re happy to stay in his corner here. The Symon Wilde-trained gelding returned with a strong first-up effort and looked ready for the rise to 1300m, a trip that should suit perfectly. Drawn to get a good run and carrying just 54.5kg, he maps to settle close enough without doing any work before launching late. In a race that remains deep and competitive, he’s still the one we’re willing to follow.

CHANGING COLOURS looks the horse to beat in the Powerflo Solutions Handicap as she chases a hat-trick of victories. The Lucy Yeomans-trained mare has won her past two starts in impressive fashion and continues to race as though there’s more improvement to come. Drawn beautifully in barrier four with Blake Shinn aboard, she should enjoy a perfect run just behind the speed before getting her chance to finish over the top. On current form, she’s the one they all have to beat.

Looking for a bit of value in our final play of the day, UNCERTAIN GLORY looks a great way to finish the day and there’s plenty to like about the setup. The Tommy Berry and Michael Freedman combination continues to be one of the more reliable partnerships in Sydney racing, and this filly should be ready to improve off her first-up effort. She made good ground from the back of the field late last start, hitting the line strongly. With that fitness run under her belt and Berry remaining aboard, she should strip fitter, settle a little closer, and prove very competitive if she reproduces that late closing section.
