Horse Racing Tips – Group 1 Queen Of The Turf

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at every runner in Saturday’s  Group 1 $1m Gr 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes with horse racing tips for the first four. Read on to see how he maps – he has included the potential for a damp track in his thoughts. Good luck!

1. ALCOHOL FREE (2) 168x34913x

T; Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / J: James Mcdonald  (57kg)

Bonafide European star who is grades above these if the best of her turns up. Did easily win a recent trial. Watch market but looks the winner. Big threat.

2. FANGIRL (15) x2562x3227

T: Chris Waller / J: Kerrin McEvoy (57kg)

SCRATCHED

3. LEVANTE (13) 114×431315

T: Team Kelso / J; Damian Lane (57kg)

Star multiple Gr 1 winning Kiwi mare who does look perfectly placed in this. Came home hard with Anamoe at Gr 1 level last start beaten under a length. That is a perfect trial for this and is certain to be dashing late. Unbeaten in 3 runs on wet tracks!

4. HINGED (20) 53358×2684

T: Chris Waller / J: Joao Moreira (57kg)

Is one of the best mares in Australia and this looks a great opportunity to add to her Gr 1 haul. Led and run down late at WFA when 4th to Dubai Honour in the Gr 1 Ranvet over 2000m last start in fast time. Poor draw means she has to dash hard early but is very fit.

5. HOPE IN YOUR HEART (4) 811142×144

T: Kerry Parker / J: Tim Clark (57kg)

How good is she? That’s the big question as she brilliantly won the Gr 2 Guy Walter then was luckless after racing wide all the way, 4th in the Gr 1 Coolmore before flashing home hard late and outside when 4th in the Gr 1 Doncaster. is ready to win.

6. PROMISE OF SUCCESS (12) 15x7109x97

T: John O’Shea / J: Chad Schofield (57kg)

Strong mare on her day and loves it damp but two runs this time up have been average.

7. SIRILEO MISS (3) 013534×711

T: Symon Wilde /J: Ben Melham (57kg)

Interesting mare. Loves to get out and roll along setting solid fractional and running the finish out of her rivals. And is strong too. Led all way past two in Melbourne for very easy wins, latest in Gr 2 Sunline this trip on slow going. Has claims.

8. ATISHU (1) x7675123x2

T:  Chris Waller /J: Nash Rawiller (57kg)

Will be big odds but worth an each way ticket. Just rattles home at the end of her races and is fitter now than when she dashed hard from 13th on bend when 2nd to Roots carrying 2kg more than her. Drawn the rails so will need luck but is smart enough.

9. ROOTS (18) x11215x341

T:  Chris Waller /J: Brenton Avdulla (57kg)

Back to best form with win in traditional good lead up race last start over 1500m. is 4th up here and very fit but may be obliged to race 3-deep from this gate.

10. STATEMENT (10) 67x4x711x9

T: Joseph O’Brien / J: John Allen (57kg)

Has ability and may improve on average 9th to Roots last start in the gr 2. Was resuming that day and was caught between runners. But this is harder.

11. MIRRA VISION (5) 8x9722x654

T: Team Snowden / J: Sam Clipperton (57kg)

SCREATCHED

12. PRIDE OF JENNI (8) 0x71537x42

T: Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace /J: Robbie Dolan (57kg)

Talented mare who rises 6kg for finishing a very close 2nd in the Gr 1 Coolmore this trip. Strips fitter here and probably sits a length of  the pace. Place show. This looks harder.

13. PURPLEPAY (14) 3x6155x6x0

T: William Haggas /J: Tom Marquand (57kg)

Is a good solid, Gr 2 winner in England but was thrashed upon Aussie debut behind Espiona and this is harder.

14. EXCELIDA (6) 3x5163x732

T: Team hayes / J; Brett Prebble (57kg)

Is very consistent. Is up from Melbourne where all her form has been against these types. is very fit., Last start ran home well when 2nd to Sirileo Miss at 1600m. This is probably a little tougher but drawn to receive a great run.

15. TIMES SQUARE (9) 2x7307x1x8

T: Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace / J; Hugh Bowman (57kg)

This is a very good mare from England. Has placed at Gr 1 level in France and on Aussie debut ran on ok when beaten 4 lengths to Bandersnatch in Doncaster Prelude. Will strip fitter. Place show.

16. BRING THE RANSOM (16) 450x100x56

T: Bjorn Baker /J: Tyler Schiller (57kg)

Is a good handicap mare but recent form against a few these suggests she isn’t racing well enough at this set weights scale to trouble these.

17. FINEPOINT (11) 313x130x33

T: Chris Waller /J: Regan Bayliss (57kg)

Interesting filly. Has always shown talent and is improving every run. Is 3rd up here and has placed in good company at both starts this time up. Drawn to get a good run with cover midfield and can run on.

18. MORE SECRETS (17) 17x3413x35

T:  Team Hawkes /J: Zac Lloyd (57kg)

When big odds last start made fair ground for 5th to Roots and Atishu. Hard to see her beating them home though.

19. Dynasties (19) 07x0549x98

T:  Team Snowden/J: – (57kg)

SCRATCHED.

20. Cap de Joie (7) –
