Warwick Farm R3 Maiden (3Yo) Hcp 1200m
Have to say this is a pretty solid maiden field for a mid weaker. I think PEREILLE from the Godolphin camp looms the largest. This will be his 3rd race start and should therefore be super ready. Sat a little wide in the run yet still powered home to narrowly miss this grade at Rosehill last start. Drawn perfectly and looks to sit in about 4th to the bend before unleashing. RIVER DANZKA and TRIBECA STAR rate as the hardest to beat.

Warwick Farm R5 – BM78 Hcp (3YO +) 1600m
I’ve been waiting for Hughie Bowman to climb back atop CASINO MONDIAL. The horse runs very well for him and they combine here 2nd up. And on a very damp track he excels. Both wet tracks and 2nd up have been happy hunting grounds for the horse who got back to near last in a good size field when resuming in a slightly better race before driving home hard to grab an eye-catching 6th. Looks well placed. Perhaps MAYFAIR SPIRIT can offer competition.

Caulfield R7 – $200k G3 Blue Sapphire Stakes (3YO) 1200m
Interesting race. Tough affair with plenty on the rise here. One of them is the filly GREECE. She has only ever won a maiden but has blinding early speed and is 2nd up from a spell here following that easy 4 lengths maiden win. LOFTY STRIKE is a question horse. Unbeaten in two starts but resuming here. Quinella them.

Warwick Farm R8 – $500k G3 Gloaming Stakes (3YO) 1600m
Good race and does look despite all the scratchings, a great competitive event. I tend to like the visiting Kiwi galloper SHARP ‘N’ SMART. The wily old Rogey trains him and he comes here off a game win in New Zealand last start. Last prep he placed at stakes level in Qld at his first trip across the Tasman. Drawn perfectly and gets the services of the great man Hughie Bowman. Looks to rush home hard from WILLIAMSBURG who is very consistent.

Caulfield R8 – $1million G1 Thousand Guineas (3YO fillies) 1600m
Classy field lining up for this Gr 1 race. I see NORTH STAR LASS from this beautiful draw just jumping out, moving hard early and being the solo leader. She is rock hard fit and was 3rd at Gr 1 level this trip last start. Is hoping to kick on the bend too and she looks the one to run down. RUSSIAN CONQUEST is 3rd ip and is ready to run her best race too and should be running on while MADAME POMMERY is classy and very fit too.
