Interesting race. I like the look of FUSAICHI FAMILY here. She just looks a cut above these no matter how I dissect the race. Her recent form is the best. It is also the most consistent and although never tried at this trip, she runs like it will suit. Gets a welcome 2kg weight allowance which when converted makes her a weighted special. Only hiccup is the draw but given she is a back marker she no doubt ambles out and drops to the rear. She also has good soft track form and she gets a soft track today. Can’t wait to get on. PORT OF JEDDAH to run 2nd for the exacta.

I’m looking forward to this race. I kinda like the old grey horse here in MANDALONG TAPIT. It has been almost one year to the day since he last won a race but he’s on his home track here and is finally racing over his preferred distance. wasn’t too far away when 5th in a similar race last start over 1400m when he made ground late. Drawn to be in a lovely spot all the way and is very fit. That home track advantage is a big thing in the bush. BECKFORD was poor 2nd up last start but is much better than that. Quinella them.

The last time this bloke THE BOROUGH raced he plugged home hard home to grab 4th over 1750m in this grade, beaten half a length in a driving finish. He was sent for a spell after that. Since then he has trialled impressively easily winning at Newcastle and looks ready. What I really like about him is the fact he has been crunched overnight on the corporate markets. That suggests someone knows he is flying.
