Racing expert, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his top three racing tips for the Orange and Grafton meeting. Good luck, punters!Â
Orange R1 Â BM58 Hcp 2100m Â
The prospect of a Soft track can only help the topwegght in this, CTHONIA. She likes it damp and gets that today. She is also the highest rated horse in the field, comes in very well at the weights because her rivals just haven’t done enough to warrant a higher rating. Plus, she is a last start winner in this grade. I see her jumping into 3rd spot early and Jake Pracey-Holmes moving her to the lead as they straighten. She then holds them all at bay. BANDAHARA can battle away for 2nd.
Tip: CTHONIA @ $3.00
Grafton R2 – Cl 1 Hcp 1106mÂ
I am kinda looking forward to this race because we get to see this very heavily backed overnight speedster ZOOM OUTCOME who is having his first race start. Did win a trial easily but has topweight and drawn the outside gate here on debut. That will make it hard especially as the one on the fence, KENTUCKY GREY, can kick up and lead. Plus, being very fit now having had two great placings this grade since resuming he looks the pick for me. I shall quinella them though.
 Tip: KENTUCKY GREY @ $6.00
Orange R6 – Mdn Hcp 1400m Â
a beautiful battle is emerging. Both these Warwick trained maidens probably see each other on the track every morning and now lock horses. And there seems nothing between SIR SAVALUCA and MISTAKEN IDENTITY. Both will be suited by this race on many levels and both are ready to run career best races. I’m favouring Mistaken identity just because she deserves to win having been runner-up this grade past two starts, and well, because she has drawn inside the other bloke. Quinella bet all day!
