Horse Racing tips – Thursday 6th January

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the Wagga meeting this afternoon, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!

Lots of anticipated speed as you would expect in a 1000m dash. But the very heavy track is going to make a few of these extremely leg weary down the running. So we look for horses who can run on. I think OPENHIMUP fits that bill well. He is a dab hand on a heavy track with his only win coming when it was a bog like today. He was also beaten narrowly at Wagga three runs back when sent to a totally unfamiliar role of leading. Is versatile but also very fit and should let LAST WAR lead these then run him down late.  Quinella them up.

Tip: OPENHIMUP @ $7.00

I think this very heavy track will play havoc with form today, but maybe not so with this reliable mare TEJORI. She is, on exposed form, as good as any of these following the scratchings. But she is better than all of them, again on exposed form, when it comes to competing on a wet track. She loves it and her latest few starts have been excellent for this. Placed at Kensington before on pace and a plodding 5th this grade at Wagga last start. Gets in much better at the weights today too. MAGNAVALE will appreciate the mud too. Quinella them.

Tip: TEJORI @ $3.00

It’s a big ask expecting a horse who started at $61 to be your top pick today but the way WEE JUGGLER improved on her first-up run to grab 3rd said to me she is on a progressive curve. Add to that, the fact her only real form was when she raced on a bog track previously last campaign and well, I think at each way odds she can be backed with some confidence today.

Tip: WEE JUGGLER @ $7.00
