Horse Racing Tips – Randwick |Sat 23rd Oct

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN previews Saturday’s Randwick , with horse racing tips and analysis for all 10 races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: out 8m from 1000m to w/p, out 5m remainder

CONTEMPORARY for Godolphin looks a cracking type with a great deal of ability. He ran home purposefully on debut at Flemington to grab 2nd.  Fitter now. rates very highly from this good gate.

Godolphin may very well quinella this race with their unraced filly OJAI. She looked comfortable in her trial running 2nd and has drawn well enough.

SECRET REVOLUTION looks forward. He won his trial impressively. Is unraced but trained here and looms large.

Tip: CONTEMPORARY

 

The run of KITZBUHEL when resuming under this same weight was very handy. He led and was run down late in a BM 64 over 1500m. Won 2nd up last campaign and can stay all day. Respect.

LORD DESANIMAUX is trained by Terry Robinson of Art Cadeau fame and he is a solid last start winner. This is harder but he finishes hard and is very fit. Certain to be thereabouts here too.

He’s up in grade but the win last start at Tamworth makes FREEDOM SQUARE a chance here. Is very fit and will be in this for a long way. The trip appears to suit.

Tip: KITZBUHEL

You just have to take O’PRESIDENT on trust here. last season he was one of the best juveniles around…but those stakes wins were on heavily;y rain effected ground. Finished last when resuming on a good track and he gets a good track again here. But, is fitter. Drawn nicely and looms large.

WAR ETERNAL looks talented too. He won a Saturday 2YO in town at this track when last in work. Looked good in recent trial also and should dash hard late. Might be very smart.

ABLE WILLIE looks pretty handy. Won his maiden in town on debut and won it very impressively. Lately that type of win translates well to these weaker stakes races so he looms very large.

Tip: ABLE WILLIE

 

It is just so hard to bypass winning form in these Midways and well, UNDENIABLE must have an undeniable chance because 3 wins from past 4 starts doesn’t lie. Gets a 2kg claim. Big show..

Can NICTOCK turn back the clock? If he rolled forward and just ran them along, like he did a few years back, he would take a lot of catching. Is third up here and can show up.

PANDORA BLUE has won three of past four starts and seems to be rather progressive. Plus, the stable is on fire and winning everything. Is on the improve every run.

Tip: UNDENIABLE

Great contest, featuring some real stars. EMERALD KINGDOM is down from Qld and he is a Gr 1 horse. He has a big weight but is 2nd up here after a terrific 2nd in good time. Must be fitter now and looks the testing material.

CRIADERAS remains a star in the making. Has a super finishing burst. Resumes here but that has never been an issue before. Loves it here and is dynamite first-up. Big show.

PTMIE STAR hasn’t been among the stars this campaign in four stars but does drop a little in class for this and is very fit. No surprise to see him win this.

Tip: 1. EMERALD KINGDOM

MAYFAIR SPIRIT will have to overcome a good field, an outside gate and topwegght but does seem to be on the improve as a racehorse. Tremendous win this company last start.

ELIZABEEL is trained here and is a chance on best form. Saying that, recent form has been only average. Dry track may turn things around.

SHIBLI is one of those does best work late every start type and is in career best form. Will sit off pace and go very close to winning third race straight.

Tip: 1. SHIBLI

 

What a terrific race. The old boy CARIF is trained here and is in superb condition. Looks extremely well placed on recent form. Has been racing closer of late than usual and has been very competitive. Will appreciate the hectic pace here.

HUSH WRITER is on home track and looks the leader. He has a high cruising pace and is 4th up so expect him to be in front for a long time. Best weighted horse in the land today. Watch market.

SAVVY VALENTINO is racing lights out of late. Looks suited to this grade and no surprise to see him bob up. Great 5th in a better race last week.

Tip: 1. HUSH WRITER

 

The win of HILAL in this class last start narrowly running down his arch-rival COASTWATCH was so full of merit. He sat off speed and chimed in perfectly. Gets an extra 100m here so should do it again.

But Coastwatch is very fit and very string and will make a race if it again. Respect him as he is very smart.

COTEHELE is lightly raced and seemed to be ridden upside down in that race won by Hilal but stuck around and ran 4th. Better suited this trip too. Have in your numbers. Big danger.

 

Tip: 1. HILAL

 

This is a tough race. Probably collectively the worst $2million field ever assembled. Saying that, someone has to win win. MADAM ROUGE is a powerhouse when the going is firm and she is 3rd up here. Looks to settle midfield and can dash very hard late. Huge chance.

Similarly NUDGE is a star at this level and is 2nd up here after a terrific 3rd. Is so consistent and bound to be thereabouts. Big chance in this.

The Qld filly STARTANTES has no weight and can run a fast mile. And that actually equates to her, as an even better 1400m proposition. Giving away age to everyone here but is very smart and that lightweight is a great asset on a big track.  Have in your numbers..

Tip: 1. STARTANTES,  2. Madam Rouge, 3. Nudge, 4. Entriviere

MARWAY has no option but to get out and go here from this gate. Should lead these and is 3rd up so may keep going. Respect.

GRAVINA looks the winner though. He is dynamite late and both his runs this time up have been outstanding, especially late with his finishing splits. Super fit now and just needs to find clear air in the straight. Big danger.

QUANTICO is also 3rd up and after a brilliant ride, railed to win a slightly easier race last start.  Just keeps improving. Will finish hard.
