Horse Racing Tips – Randwick | Sat 18th Sept

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN previews Saturday’s Randwick , with horse racing tips and analysis for all 10 races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 6

Rail Position: Out 7m to w/p, then 4m remainder

Gee these Highways are getting strong. Cracking field here. The last time AHEAD START contest a Cl 3 Highway, Jay Mac rode him and he won by half a length. Resumes from a spell here but two trials have him ready. Looks an improving type. Keep him safe.

LEO is smarter than most of these and will be on speed all the way. Goes particularly well while fresh too and resumes here with Hughie riding.

PRIVATE AGENT has the great draw. Won on debut by nearly 5 lengths, then fair run in town before being narrowly beaten as a $1.28 fav at Goulburn. Resumes here and is expected to run boldly.

Tip: LEO

 

Chris Waller will saddle three in this, the best being BIGBOYROY. He’s an honest type and he is 4th up here. Represents a great bet as he goes well this grade and has placed two of three runs this time up. Can atone. Respect.

CISCO BAY won handsomely first up then in four starts since has been thereabouts this grade. Should drop into about 5th spot here and is super fit.

KORDIA is in this well considering the tough way he charged home to claim a similar race last start. Is very fit and now back in form can go on with the job.  Big show.

Tip: BIGBOYROY

BOWERY BREEZE is 3rd up and looks nicely placed. Has always shown talent this level.  Drawn nicely and looms large. Is honest enough.

Really interesting to see how tough BIG SURPRISE runs in this. His form of late has been first rate and with Hughie on top he rates the one to beat. Very strong win last start at this level.

CANYONERO isn’t the most reliable but has the ability to rocket late when his mind is on the job. Very fit and gets a great run in this from this draw. Bound to be in the fray.

Tip: BIG SURPRISE

 

ELIZABEEL is very talented. She is trained here and she is 3rd up into this, a race where the trip will suit a whole lot better than past two races. Made ground on both those days and the 3kg claim is a massive help here.

SUPER EFFORT put in just so well last start running 2nd behind Brigantine and before that his 2nd win of past 3 runs and that consistency makes him a big chance in this. Looms very large.

SUAVE is interesting. Won like a smart one just before spell. resumes here, trialled well, and Jay Mac booking is very interesting.

Tip: ELIZABEEL

Great contest, featuring some smart ones here. PRIME STAR has to lift on past two runs but he is fitter now and on his day is very capable. Scratchings here help his cause.

PRIVATE EYE is 3rd up and at his past two campaigns he has won 3rd up, so that bears watching. Didn’t run on last start like expected when 7th this level but is considerably better than that and has won 5 of his last 8 starts. Big show.

ATISHU is interesting. This might be too short but she also may be a superstar in the making. Watch market. Is third up and has no weight. Sure to be battling away late.

Tip: 1. PRIVATE EYE

FOUR MOVES AHEAD is a star. She was one of the very best fillies last season and she looks well in here after a great first-up 3rd this grade. Last start came home along the rails from last at bend to grab 5th this grade. Has the benefit of this being her home track and is super fit now.

MALLORY likewise was a star last campaign. Won at Gr 3 level and placed behind Four Moves Ahead at Gr 2 level before failing in the Gr 1 Golden Slipper. The run when resuming this grade when 5th was useful and then backed it up with a game 3rd when coming hard last start this class. Respect her. Big danger.

SWIFT WITNESS beat many of these when resuming with authority. Is a very strong filly and at home here looks to go on with the job. If she settles near the rear she can rattle home. Made ground when close up 6th this grade last start.

Tip: 1. FOUR MOVES AHEAD

 

What a terrific race. The emergence of Zaaki has made those involved with the great VERRY ELLEEGANT a little nervous but the mare doesn’t face him here and so she should resume her role as the dominant racehorse in the land. Should sit back and simply run past these late.

CASCADIAN was unlucky not to win when resuming then when heavily backed last start seemed to take time to wind up. Has won at Gr 1 level this track and trip and being 3rd up he deserves a great deal of interest. On his day, he can fly home late.  Have in your numbers.

THINK IT OVER is just so honest and tough and a real star at this journey and level and especially at this track. Looked so strong late when winning a Gr 2 and is fitter now. Watch market.

HUNGRY HEART will run a huge race if the track dries out. Is 2nd up and has a lot of ability if no moisture under foot.

Tip: 1. VERRY ELLEEGANT.  2. Cascadian, 3. Think It Over, 4. Hungry Heart

 

NATURE STRIP is the best sprinter in Australia. Yet he continually has to front up and defend that claim. Looked awesome winning first up. Fitter now but needs to be as this is a cracker of a field. Probably settles in 3rd and out kicks them over the rise. Respect him as he is very smart.

GYTRASH is astonishing while fresh and is first-up here. Will let the speed go and come sailing down the centre of the track.

We get to see just how smart LOST AND RUNNING is. He will not contest the front early, allowing Eduardo and Rothfire to fire up, then he should be doing his best work late. Looked outstanding in recent trial. Have in your numbers. Big danger.

 

Tip: 1. NATURE STRIP 

 

KUKERACHA will get back and being 3rd up should get to the middle of the track as they turn and sprout wings. Looks a genuine Cups horse so this should suit a great deal. Should again settle off speed and make a great late run.

MONTEFILIA is a Gr 1 winner and did win over 2000m last campaign when 2nd up. Ran a brilliant 3rd when resuming and looks well placed.  Big chance in this.

SHE’S IDEEL is a brilliant galloper and is weighted to win this. Probably drops out but she is so honest and so fast late she can flash home.

Tip: 1. SHE’S IDEEL

This race is an absolute lottery.

VALAQUENTA hasn’t drawn the best but has won past two starts and looks to make his way through the grades. Bound to go close.

Also drawn badly is MAMARAGAN but he is down a long way in grade and has speed top overcome the draw if connections choose to go forward. His best races have been when he goes back however. Is 2nd up.

EQUATION is very smart and could develop into a star this prep. Won 4 on the bounce including the Listed Canberra Guineas before spelling. resumes here and may sprout wings late. Just keeps improving.
