Horse Racing tips – Randwick | Sat 11th Dec

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN previews Saturday’s Randwick card, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 10 races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Heavy 8

Rail Position: True

VALIANT must have had issues as he is now a 6Yo and has raced only 6 times. But he has talent and has won 3 of them. Doesn’t mind it wet either. Upnlplaced in two starts since resuming but is ready now. Fitter now. Rates very highly from this good gate.

Scone trainer Cameron Crockett never runs his horses from wide gates but he is with this mare MIDSUMMER RAIN today which suggests she is flying. Trialled well enough recently and has sufficient speed to be handy all the way.

Another mare racing really well is LONDON GAL. She also has speed and is a model of consistency down south. Drawn to get a great run unlike many of the main chances.

Tip: VALIANT

The run of TRAVEST last start was a sensational trial for this. He stormed home to grab 2nd. Is flying at present, likes it wet and looks the one they have to hold out.

SAVVY LEGEND it just be said was average when resuming last start and 8th. This is slightly easier and being on home track and fitter now, he rates another chance.

The 3kg weight allowance makes REMUS look very enticing. Won two last campaign, and was a terrific 2nd when resuming. Fitter now. The trip appears to suit.

Tip: TRAVEST

DRAGONSTONE has enormous potential. Won like a very smart one in the making when resuming last start and this may well just be a further stepping stone.

LADY OF LUXURY has a bit of x-factor about her also. Is very fit and highly consistent. Won two of past three and does hit the line strongly.

TINY nice type and is honest but doesn’t win very often. Has placed this grade three times this campaign so have in your nukbers.

Tip: DRAGONSTONE

MIGHTYBEEL is so honest and tough. A little worry about running this trip right out but he is genuine and will hit the line well.

HUSH WRITER may have found his race this time/. H ecan roll to the lead here and may not get tackled for the front so he will plough through the mud. Has a poor wet track record but if left alone he could surprise.

HERMAN HESSE may spoil his party though because he likes to get out and be on speed too. Is racing very well in slightly weaker races and is very fit. Chance.

Tip: MIGHTYBEEL

Great contest, featuring some potential stars. ATHLETICA looks the speed in the race. Led all the way to win an easier race on debut handsomely and is now racing on his home track. Respect.

BOLDHINO comes up from Melb after a great and solid finishing 2nd on debut. Drawn to receive a great run just behind the speed with cover. Bound to be running on.

CALGARY STAMPEDE is smart. Muscled his way professionally between runners then kicked clear to win an easier race on debut. Bad draw here but iof he eases back to about 6th he may find cover. Can come late.

Tip: 1. BOLDHINO

When last in work INCREDULOUS DREAM won two and was placed in the other so loves racing fresh, a fact borne out with a game 2nd when resuming. Fit and ready to pounce here.

IRISH ANGEL looked smart winning an easier race when resuming. Did it in style and should finish even harder this time. Big show.

CLOUDY gets in here with now eight and is in form. Great hard finishing 3rd slightly easier affair last start when resuming. Must be in your numbers.

Tip: 1. INCREDULOUS DREAM

What a terrific race. ELEVEN ELEVEN bounced back in spectacular style to win a similar race last start swooping down the outside. He was 2nd up that day so should strip even fitter now. Looks a real show again. Will appreciate the hectic pace here.

SOUTHERN LAD won handsomely first-up in a similar race then not sighted in a rare poor effort last start behind Vulpine. Is on home track today,  and boasts a good record in the mud. Watch market.

DAWN PASSAGE has been hopelessly out of form lately. But he has been racing in longer and stronger races. On home track today so expect a marked improvement.

Tip: 1. DAWN PASSAGE

So many hopes here and one of the better ones is BANDERSNATCH. From this inside draw he will push up and be about 3rd or 4th all the way. He is now peaking for this following a pair of terrific lead-up runs, latest when 3rd to Ellsberg and meets 2.5kg better. Big show.

Speaking of ELLSBERG he is so genuine and is so talented he must be considered. Is racing in career-best form and will get the trip. Drawn well enough and he was dominant in that lead-up race winning comfortably.

GROVE FERRY is set to fire up. Has had three runs in Australia and has improved in every one of them culminating in a very strong 3rd at stakes level over 2000m last start. Tommy Smith used to say you have to have a strong 2000m horse to win these big 1600m handicaps. Big danger.

This is a tough race. This Kiwi visitor LIGHTNING JACK is in well at the weights off his NZ form. Runs a powerful mile and has strong wet track form. Expect him to run on hard.  Huge chance.

Similarly his stablemate EQUATION who ran out of his skin in the strong Villeres lead-up race last start when dashing home for 2nd. Peaking perfectly. Big chance in this.

TLACKEEN is talented and may well love the mud. Is 3rd up now, so is primed and has a strong dash late. Drawn perfectly. Have in your numbers..

Tip: 1. EQUATION

HOLYFIELD was right in the fight until the last 150m when resuming in a similar race last start. Ran 8th but if he is fitter now, he will improve on that. Respect.

BROOKSPIRE looks the winner though. was three deep all the way and erratic in the straight when resuming last start over 1300m in this grade but still finished it off for 2nd. Just is so much fitter today and the trip suits more. Big danger.

BLESK gets back and runs on home hard every start. Is so consistent and honest. Will finish hard.

Tip: BROOKSPIRE
