Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the day. Good luck, punters!
Kensington R1 – Three-year-old Maiden Handicap 1300m
WAIKIKI started big odds here on debut and after being inspected behind the barrier she was allowed to start but she missed the kick and found herself well back in the second half early. She was hunted up from the corner and really liked her last 200m when she ran into second spot on heavy ground.
She is likely to get similar conditions and will be better from the race experience. She will certainly not be the odds she was on debut as James McDonald takes the ride for Chris Waller and she can win this.
Tip: WAIKIKI
Sandown R1 – Maiden Plate 1400m
It is not often that Jamie Kah teams up with Godolphin but she gets the chance with a promising three-year-old colt in AFT CABIN. He was well supported on the heavy ground at Warwick Farm on debut and he loomed up to win at the 200m before finding one better.
Drawn a touch wide but he will be better from that race experience and with premier rider aboard happy to have him as the bet of the day.
Tip: AFT CABIN
Sandown R7 – BM70 Handicap 1600m
HANAADY produced a big finish to get the prize at Ballarat two starts back then he found heavy here last start and just missed in driving finish and she beat the others by a big space.
She will make her own luck going forward and with the likelihood of wet ground again she gets chance to return to the winners stall.
Tip: HANAADY
Doomben R6 – Class 1 Handicap 2060m
OTYRAR chased home strongly when placed at Eagle Farm last start. That was over a mile and the step up to this distance range should be ideal.
The son of New Approach (IRE) looks primed third-up from spell and Chris Waller looks to have found the right race for her to return to winners stall.
Tip: OTYRAR
Kensington R5 – BM72 Handicap 1000m
Can never leave out the James McDonald/Godolphin combination out of winners for the day and the best looks to be LAURELIN today. She resumes from a break after not finding her best form in two runs last time in work.
She has looked to have come back bigger and stronger winning her most recent Warwick Farm trial with something in hand. Expect she will win better races this campaign and she can start with a fresh win.
