LAFARGUE was in the market at Flemington on debut but he just got too far off them and only made ground late. Sure to be better from that outing and look for improvement.
HE’S THE ULTIMATE chased home a smart one at Caulfield on debut then he may have had enough when only battled in Listed company at Flemington. This a nice race to return in.
RIVERPLATE is the big query resuming from spell. Only start was in New Zealand when ran into a placing. Watch market support closely.
VILANA just left his run a little too late at Bendigo on debut but still caught the eye late. Going to need all Ollies magic from wide gate but cannot leave out.
Tip: LAFARGUE
FLORENT chased home strongly and just missed in better race at Caulfield last start. Only needs to find that form to get away with this.
CAFÉ RIZU looks ready to win. She has been placed in last couple and from ideal inside barrier here she will get all the favours and would not leave out of winning chances.
NORDIC SYMPHONY is another who comes into this with consistent form having been placed in last two starts in town. Cannot leave her out of multiples.
MY KERI PI showed good speed and led for a long way at Moe last start. Should roll forward from her wide gate and take a forward position and prove hard to run down.
Tip: FLORENT
SAINT OF KATOWICE looked impressive from up on the speed at Cranbourne two starts back then backed that up chasing a smart one here last start. That form good for this.
INDIANA LILLY gets back in a winnable race here. She has been well held in last couple in town but back in class could be the key to improvement.
ELIDI was making good late ground at Hillside last start and snuck into a late placing. Will give them a start but watch for her to be hitting the line hard.
THE BRUMBY comes across the border in winning form. Liked the way he hit the line to win last start and he can measure up to these.
Tip: SAINT OF KATOWICE
THE GARDEN demolished them at Geelong last start when jumped to the front and kept coming. Drawn to drive through and lead again and he will be the one to catch last 200m.
LAFFALONG had some support at longer odds at Flemington first-up but looked in need of the run and just held ground. Sure to be better from that outing.
DESERT DREAMER was enormous winning at Donald two starts back after tough run then he just missed at Bendigo last outing. Racing well and deserves chance in town.
NIGHT PASSAGE is the query resuming from a spell. Raced solidly early in last campaign and if she can find that form fresh will be a major player.
Tip: THE GARDEN
Interesting runner resuming is GLITTER ‘N’ GOLD. She won her Ballarat maiden with ease when on debut then may have had enough by the time she got to The Valley before break. Big watch fresh.
VERANSKOVA looks close to returning to the winners stall with a couple of sound placings leading into this. Drawn to get perfect run and will get chance at some stage in straight.
ESCADORA gave good kick going back inside to win maiden at Geelong last start. Looks a mare with plenty of ability and can win in town.
MISS GUGGENHEIM resumes from spell. Stable thought enough of it to race in some quality Stakes races last time in work. She has had a trial to get ready for this and would not dismiss.

PERENNIAL won with something on the heavy ground her two starts back then forget last start when never got crack at any stage in straight. Should be nice odds and can win.
GHODELEINE was not beaten all that far at Flemington last start when placed behind a couple of smart ones. Drawn to get the ideal run in transit and she will be hard to hold out.
DUKE OF PLUMPTON relished the heavy ground when finished a touch too good at Cranbourne last start. Drawn touch wide but can go on with it here.
DARLAMAX chased home the smart Tuvalu when placed at Hillside last start. This looks nice race for him and would not leave out of multiples.
Tip: PERENNIAL
Going to have something each way on PIONEER RIVER in what looks a winnable race. Just peaked on run after looking a chance at Flemington last start. Drawn little awkwardly but if can get some cover may figure.
OVERKILL was $11 into $9.50 at Flemington first-up but looked in need of the hit out when did not finish the race off well enough. Strips fitter and would not leave out of chances.
SHOJIKI resumes from spell. She race consistently last time in work including a placing first-up. Needs luck from barrier but would not dismiss.
KALASHANI LAD has been racing in better races than this. Not been threatening but the old boy can produce a run when least expected and would throw in first four.
Tip: PIONEER RIVER
CHIEF ALTONY finished too well and won with something in hand here two starts back then just covered too much ground last start and weakened. He can bounce back from ideal barrier.
AIDENSFIELD looks close to a win this prep. Just found one better late down the Flemington straight last start and although she has horror barrier cannot dismiss.
WAR CRITIC resumes. Impressive winning at Caulfield two starts back then did not have much luck at Flemington before break. He can surprise these fresh.
HUNBOSHI is another first-up from spell. Yet to flatter in five first-up tries but may sneak into minor spot for exotics.
