Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s Sandown Lakeside meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: Out 5m entire circuit
SURCOTE is a debutant from the Chris Waller stable. Bred to have plenty of speed and from ideal barrier with Craig Williams aboard can win this at first start.
MASTERFUL was in the market at The Valley on debut and battled on well beaten less than 2 lengths. Better from the experience and from inside gate will go close in this.
TREPORTI resumes from spell. Yet to run a back race in any of his six starts and would not expect him to be a maiden for much longer.
ENDLESSLY started favourite at Bendigo first-up and only just missed in a driving finish. Fitter and although has horrible barrier cannot dismiss.
GUARDIAN SPIRIT did it tough at Geelong first-up from spell but still too good for maiden company. Drawn to get the perfect run and he can take the step up.
BIG APPLE was good when placed at Mornington first-up before striking a heavy track at Cranbourne last start. Perfect barrier and back on firmer track will suit.
SOOBOOMA found the step up to Listed class a bit too hot at Flemington last start. Back in right race here and he will be in finish.
GULF OF ADEN raced on the speed before sprinting clear final stages to win maiden fresh. Better from that outing and he can get away with this.
Tip: GUARDIAN SPIRIT
Always had an opinion of REDWOOD SHADOW who took on much better races in his 3yo season. Chased home well enough when placed last start and third-up he is ready to find best form.
SARNIA demolished a maiden field at Bairnsdale by 7 lengths last start. Finds harder race but she was impressive last outing. Drawn to get ideal run and can win again.
DESIGNS chased home strongly to just miss at Kilmore first-up from spell. Better from the outing and would not leave out of winning chances.
CRACKERJACK PRINCE started favourite at Ballarat first-up but just found one better final stages. Sure to be fitter from the outing and can sneak a placing.
Tip: REDWOOD SHADOW
MRS SIPPY has been placed in both runs back from spell. Drawn to get the ideal run behind the speed and she can get away with this.
DEE KEEPA found heavy track at Dunkeld first-up but still ran into placing. Placed in two of three second-up and this not a difficult affair.
IT’S KIND OF MAGIC fought the race out strongly when placed in small field at Bendigo last start. Has plenty of speed and expect she will be prominent for a long way.
STARRING ROLE looked in need of the run when she just battled at The Valley first-up. Will be better from that outing and drawn ideally.
Tip: MRS SIPPY
SHADOW HAWK resumes from spell. May have had enough when well held at The Valley before break. This not a difficult affair first-up and happy to have something each way on him.
PAL D’ORO is another first-up from a break. Been placed in both first-up tries and must include based on that stat alone.
WOLF SKILL looked impressive wining her maiden at Geelong on debut. Will be better from the race experience and with natural improvement can measure up to these.
NOTMYFIRSTRODEO is first-up from spell. Took on some hot races at Flemington before going for a break. Back in right race fresh and cannot dismiss.
Tip: SHADOW HAWK
WITSABOUTHIM is the big query making his debut in Australia. Won maiden at second start in New Zealand then won again before break. If any money about must support.
BRASADA was strong winning at Pakenham two starts back then not beaten all that far in similar race to this here last start. He can figure again.
GALACTIC EXPRESS chased home steadily enough when just out of the placings at Mornington last start. That form good enough to be included in multiples.
TRANSLATOR has been poor in both runs back from spell but he is unbeaten this track and distance and third-up from spell expect improvement.
UNIQUE ARTIST resumes from spell. She was a Flemington winner two starts back then may have had enough when weakened badly before break. Wants further but may run cheeky race fresh.
HELLO BROADCAST was not beaten all that far at Flemington last outing and that followed a Cranbourne placing. Drawn wide but must consider.
JESTA DREAMA comes off strong last start win at Mornington. This not much harder and he can make it two in a row.
VUCETICH was beaten less than 2 lengths at Randwick first-up from spell. Sure to strip fitter and won second-up last time in work.
Tip: UNIQUE ARTIST
KENTUCKY CASANOVA resumes from spell. Won maiden with something in hand at Swan Hill on debut then placed in town. This nice race for him to resume in.
OBI is another first-up. Model of consistency with a string of placings last time in work but just could not win. Drawn awkwardly but he will be in finish.
PRELIMINAIRES looked like he would benefit from the run when out of placings at Moe last start. Fitter for the effort and a must for exotics.
ELECTRIC BELLE is another who comes into this second-up from spell. Well held at The Valley fresh but will be better from the outing.
