Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s Sandown Lakeside meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Soft 7
Rail Position: True entire circuit
Thought MARCOLT looked a safe bet here. He was well backed into favourite at Flemington last start but just left his run from the back a little too late. Extra 400m here looks ideal.
MR JOOBS drove to the front at 200m and just proved too strong on the synthetic last start. Will find this a tougher affair but cannot leave him out of chances.
TOKEN SPIRIT comes out of the same Flemington race as Marcolt last start and he was getting home well enough. Only needs to hold that form and he will be in the mix.
ECO WARRIOR only battled in that Flemington race but this no harder and he may sneak into first four for multiple players.
Tip: MARCOLT
CRAZY LADIES started short favourite in the small field at Ballarat last start but found a heavy track and could only hold minor placing. Strips fitter second-up and will be having something each way.
DOUCEUR relished the heavy ground to win her maiden at Ballarat on debut and she went straight to the paddock. Won trial since and she can measure up to these.
WHATAFOX was backed from $11 into $6.50 at Hillside on debut. Was flat footed straightening but got going final stages and not beaten all that far. She will be better from the race experience.
GOTTA PULSE won on the heavy on debut then found Flemington race a little too hot last start. Back in right race and if finds heavy conditions will be right in the mix.
Tip: CRAZY LADIES
OCEAN’S JEN was strong through the line winning his maiden at Hillside first-up from spell. Finds a tougher race to contend with here but drawn ideally and can measure up to these.
POLINA was sent out short favourite at Moe before break and won accordingly. Had a break since and she can measure up to this first-up.
HIGHLAND JAKK was placed at Hillside first-up last time in work at Hillside. Will be better over touch further but can run a cheeky race fresh.
CRESTANI powered home from the back at Hillside first-up from spell. Sure to be better from that outing and expect he will be in the finish.
Tip: OCEAN’S JEN
SPOONING just got too far back at Hillside last start but really like the way she got to the line when beaten just over a length. Drawn perfectly and if Jamie Kah can weave some magic in the straight she can get away with this.
PROMADA was another who caught the eye over last 200m here last start. She will get back in second half but expect her to be making good late ground.
SUCCEED INDEED has been racing in slightly better races that this of late. She as placed in nice race at Caulfield three starts back and if she can produce that form will be right in the mix.
MONTIA was strong winning at Ballarat two starts back then beaten less than a length at Hillside. Only needs that form to be in finish.
Tip: SPOONING
PARENNIAL was working home nicely over final 200m at Hillside last start. She finds a similar race here and despite awkward draw must include in each way chances.
LINDHOUT was beaten less than a length at Hillside last start and arguably should have won after copping a bump. She gets chance to make amends.
DESERT REALM should have finished closer on the heavy at Ballarat last start when held up at 100m. Fitter and is she gets similar conditions will make her presence felt.
MAKE MINE HENNESSY battled on well back inside in much better race at Flemington last start. She gets back in winnable race and must consider.
Tip: PARENNIAL
DIRTY DEEDS is becoming a bit costly for his supporters just finding it hard to find the winners stall. Will not get a better chance than this to win.
SMOKIN’ ROMANS looks ready to win again. Two solid placings leading into this and just missed at Hillside last start. Finds a similar race and he will take some beating.
CRIMSON ACE was placed in Listed company in Adelaide two starts back then not beaten all that far at Flemington last outing. If she can hold that form she will be right in the mix.
CONVERGING was bit disappointing at Flemington last start but her previous form was solid including a Listed placing two starts back. Would not leave her out of chances.
Tip: DIRTY DEEDS
ORLEANS ROCK started favourite at Sale first-up from spell and looked in need of the run when had to settle for second spot. Strips fitter from that outing and although drawn wide gets chance to go one better.
SCANTOON jumped to the front and held off late challenge for good tough on pace win at Hillside last start. If he can get across from his wide gate here he will take catching.
Liked the way FINAL MAN got to the line when placed at Sale last start. If he can find that finish he will be right in the mix.
The query runner is the import having first Australian start. She was placed at Longchamp on heavy ground first-up last time in work and if she finds similar conditions she can measure up to these.
Tip: ORLEANS ROCK
NATIONAL CHOICE took on some hot races last time in work but just fell short. He won his maiden on debut and may have a class edge on most of these. Keep an eye on stable support.
KUZCO LAD resumes from spell. Been placed in two of three fresh and Oliver aboard should make his presence felt in this field.
TERAMIA won well fresh at Sale and has been solid enough in her races since. Deserves chance in town and this is not beyond her.
WILDE GEM was good at Caulfield last start when beaten just over 2 lengths. That form is good enough to be included in first four chances.
Tip: NATIONAL CHOICE
