Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Sandown Hillside | Sat 30th April

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Sandown Hillside meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: True entire circuit

ROYAL INVADER looked impressive when sprinted clear to win Stawell jumpout with something in hand. Debutant from the all-conquering Maher/Eustace stable and expect she will be well supported.

PORT ALBERT just got fraction too far back at Caulfield on debut but liked the way he hit the line into minor placing. Better from the race experience and drawn ideally.

COLORADO CRUZ is a son of G1 Lightning winner Nicconi out of 4 times winning mare. She won a jumpout back in the spring then has won another leading into this. Must consider.

AGNELLI has been racing consistently enough without threatening in recent starts. Filled a placing at Caulfield last start but well off winner. This looks no harder and he can win this.

NORDIC PRIDE relished the 3000m here last start when just finished too well. He does come back in distance but no reason he cannot win again.

WITCHACHAR STAR has been working through his classes with authority this prep. Close placing behind Point Nepean at Caulfield last start is good form for this.

JUCCONI was enormous winning at The Valley last start as he was never on the track at any stage before powering away late. Drawn wide but he can win again.

D’JUMBUCK relished the soft track when he finished hard to win at Lakeside last start. Should get similar conditions and will be hitting he line hard again.

STRETTO was dominant winning here two starts back then went to Bendigo and was just a bit plain final stages. If he can produce form from two back he can win this.

AGREEABLE resumes from a spell. She has been placed in three of her four first-up tries and this not a difficult race fresh. Happy to have something each way on her.

CIRRINA was placed in first two starts this prep before poor run at Caulfield. She gets back in right race and would not leave out of multiples.

COMMANDS THE FIELD broke through for a well-deserved win at Lakeside last start. Yet to run a bad race this campaign and cannot leave her out of chances again.

This is a very even affair so went for something with value in CALIFORNIA SURREAL. She won her maiden fresh on Sydney then just battled on wet tracks since. If she gets firmer she will be right in this.

JAYANTHI finally got her maiden out of the way at Ballarat last start. Promising filly from the Maher/Eustace stable and expect her to measure up to these.

LITERARY MAGNATE is the best horse in the race and has won fresh. Just missed place in Thousand Guineas before break and if forward enough will be bit too good for these.

STARRY LEGEND started favourite first-up at Mornington but he could not lead and sat on speed before fading final stages. Strips fitter and if he can lead he can win this.

ZORRO’S DREAM was making steady ground at Bendigo last start but from too far off them. Form previously was good enough for this and he will be right in the mix.

SACRED PALACE finally got the job done winning at Terang last start. He had been close up previously and gets chance to go on with it in this.

BELLE SAVOIR won here first-up from spell then she just peaked on run late at Caulfield when not beaten far. She gets her chance to return to winners stall.

GUNDEC won two in a row to begin this campaign then he fought the race out tenaciously at Caulfield last start. Needs some luck from wide gate but racing well enough to figure.

FLASH FEELING should have won at Caulfield last start. Just held-up at a vital stages before charging late to just miss. Drawn ideally and he can go one better.

BUFFALO RIVER resumes from spell. He has solid first-up record (7:2-3-0) and this looks a nice race for him to resume in. He goes on top.

SUPERIUM was placed in the Hareeba at Mornington two starts back then he worked home late when not beaten far last start. Drawn perfectly and he must be included in chances.

REGARDSMAREE has been frustrating to supporters for a long time but he found best finishing all over them at Caulfield last start. No reason he cannot win again.

EAGLES CRAG resumes from a spell. Only poor run last prep was on the heavy ground before going for break. He is promising and as long as not too wet happy to have something each way.

SIR DAVY just keeps winning. Good tough win at Warrnambool then followed up with soft win in town last start. Needs luck from barrier but cannot leave out.

BELTORO is not far off another win. Last start was enormous after covering plenty of extra ground at Caulfield. Finds similar and a must for exotics.
