Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Saturday’s Rosehill meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Soft 7
Rail Position: True, entire circuit
MAJOR ARTIE resumes here but is in a stable that produces horses first-up. Bound, from this gate, to be fresh enough to ping and be on lead all of the way. Strong claims.
KOBE ROCKS must be considered. He is in career best form and absolutely loves it wet. Won at BM 72 at the ‘Farm last start and suited here. Big show.
Here we have the potential leader in QUEEN BELLISSIMO and she is is sparkling form too winning 3 of past 4 runs. Led all way to claim a BM 64 last start with a big weight. Should take catching.
Tip: MAJOR ARTIE
It does appear this trip in this grade will suit THE DROVER. His run last start in a strong Cl 3 Highway when 2nd to the very talented Casino Kid makes him a massive threat in this. Gets back but does rocket home. Big show.
Albury trainer Mitch Beer has always rated this bloke PACKER’S BOND and he finds a winnable race here. Did come from last on bend to miss by half a length when resuming last start over 1200m at Wagga. Watch the market.
If BEING NAUGHTY can get in and find some cover he is a player gyre. He is so consistent and just puts in every run. Last start was 5th for home when too strong in a driving finish to win a BM 58 at Tamworth. that form holds up in town.
Tip: THE DROVER
SWEET THOMAS is trained to run all day. Not much dash about him but he’s tough and ground home well for 3rd in the Brisbane Cup earlier this month over this trip. Big weight but is tough. That run will improve him and he rates a show here too.
KAAPFEVER hasn’t won at this trip but does run home hard and his 2nd in a BM 72 on a heavy 8 with 59.5kg last start says this journey will not worry. Carries 50kg this time and looks the winner.
This is easier than recent starts but HE RUNS AWAY needs to lift on past efforts. Is fit though and on home track. Respect all that. Chance.
Tip: KAAPFEVER
Chris Waller looks to have a mortgage on this race. He saddles 5 runners and they should finish in the top 5. How, hmmm, I think ZING looks a cut above them on class and should win this comfortably at her 4th start this time up.
SAVIGNE is also 4th up and is ready to produce her best. Gets the gate to help.
OUR INTRIGUE has run two nice races in preparation for this. Just missed the place both times. Â In a slightly weaker race now and is ready to pounce.
Tip: 1. ZING
Tough race. The class horse is WAIRERE FALLS and he has shown that by the way he sits off the speed and just gathers the leaders up late. Terrific example of it shown this grade at all 3 runs this campaign where he has flashed home to place. On home track this afternoon. Big chance to do it again. Â Watch betting moves.
Here today, 3rd up, KNIGHT may be a fly in the ointment. He probably goes hard to lead and now fully fit should take a power of running down. Raced that way last start over 1400m and was grabbed on the line. Big show.
The damp track here and the weight of just 50kg make this bush filly MEG a show. She is in form, loves it wet and did bolt in over a mile last start at Wagga in weaker grade.
Tip: 1. WAIRERE FALLS
He will be anchored by a big weight here but RANIER is in form and he may very well lead this field. If unchallenged and given he can run in the wet, he may take catching. Did that over a mile last start when knocking over Kementari.
BANDERSNATCH rates highly here. He is 3rd up and has a history of racing very well in this grade. Handles it damp too. Beaten a length only when 2nd this class last start this trip. If he runs up to his best he is in this finish.
THREEOOD is a little under-estimated. She is very honest and that 3rd first-up in a stakes race at Eagle Farm where she rocketed from well back on the bend was impressive. Strips even fitter now. Â Will hit the wire hard.
Tip: 1. BANDERSNATCH
I suspect the toppie here OPACITY will take holding out. He stepped up to open grade with 51kg last start and charged home to win. Loves it wet. Is in form and down in class here. Is up in weight but too many variables on his side to go past. He looms large.
BRUTALITY comes hard at the end and is super fit. Quick back up from hard finishing 4th in the 2000m McKell Cup last week. Better suited this journey. Watch the betting.
MUBARIZ is in sparkling, career best form and this looks cherry ripe for him. Is on home track and going for 3rd straight win. Should get a perfect run in about 6th with cover to the bend and just extends so well late. Big, big danger.
Tip:Â 1. MUBARIZ
What a good contest. CANASTA may have a day to treasure here. He is the speed in the race on a track that being wet suits him and he is is great form. Is also 3rd up and was 2nd at his past two starts in this grade. Ticks many boxes. Respect.
ULYSSES is just honest and a trier. He is 2nd up here after a luckless 3rd this grade when resuming. Should give them a start but his consistency will prevail late. Have to have him in your numbers.
BLONDEAU is on home track and can unleash late. Did that when resuming to win running away but although placed 3rd at next 2 starts in this grade, those runs were a tad disappointing. At best, wins this.
Tip: 1. ULYSSES
This bloke SHADOW CRUSH will take holding out. He is on track for 3 on the bounce all at this mark. Drawn perfectly to sit about 4th to the bend and then charge late. Â Big show.
DUNBRODY POWER resumes here and has a terrific record first-up. Did run down Shadow Scush this grade late last year. Chimed in and won well twice at this level. Big player today.
TRIPLE ACE is fast and very honest. Resumes here after two solid trials. Has the inside draw and did win 4 on the trot last campaign, beaten a nose just before spelling by Malkovich who would be a $1.80 chance in this.
Tip: SHADOW CRUSH
