Track Condition: Soft 5
Rail Position: Out 10m entire circuit
SOUTH PACIFIC sprinted away and won with something in hand here two starts back then he put in a poor one here last start. Looking for him to bounce back in this.
SCHABAU looked in need of the run when just did not finish race off well enough here first-up. He is a talented gelding and can bounce back in this.
DR DRILL was touch unlucky when did not get much room final stages but still ran into close second spot. He gets chance to go one better.
ONE MORE TRY was beaten less than 2 lengths in similar race to this last start. Comes into this ready third-up from spell and will be in finish.
Tip: SOUTH PACIFIC
SUNFALL won his maiden with something in hand at Geelong two starts back then went to Caulfield and ran into a minor placing. Will be suited around Flemington and must respect.
SHARP RESPONSE relished the heavy to win at Lakeside last start. Won two of three starts and placed behind smart Jigsaw at other start. He can win this.
STAR SPIRIT won on debut then placed behind Sharp Response on the heavy track last start. That good enough form to be included in this.
FORGOT YOU is the one to watch first-up. Took on a couple of hot races in his two year old season and if forward enough will be right in the mix.
Tip: SUNFALL
Going to have something each way at big odds on MODEAR. Loves the Flemington straight and won this track/distance two starts back. She looks a nice value bet.
ZESTY BELLE only just missed in a driving finish at Caulfield first-up then was only getting warm late last start. On home track and should find outside rail. She will get her chance.
ZORRO’S DREAM has been a model of consistency but just finding it hard to win. Can never leave him out of multiples in this class.
ASHFORD STREET won a couple in a row in the Western District before going to Caulfield and running a super race when raced on speed and held on for placing. He can sneak a place.
Tip: MODEAR
LINDHOUT was dominant here two starts back then powered home touch too late when placed here last start. This nice race for her to return to winner stall.
AIDENSFIELD was placed here two starts back then she was beaten less than a length here last start. Always competitive in this class and can figure in placings.
DON’TTELLTHEBOSS won here three starts back then she has not been beaten all that far in last couple and cannot leave out of multiples.
OUR BIRDSONG was impressive winning at Hillside last start and although she steps up in grade would expect her to measure up to these.
Tip: LINDHOUT
MISS ALBANIA looked like she would benefit from her run when placed at Caulfield first-up. Only needs natural improvement to get away with this.
OXLEY ROAD resumes from spell. Group 3 winner at only his second start then may have had enough when just out of the placings here last start. If fit enough he will be in mix.
DEEP SPEED worked to the front and held them all off to win at Caulfield fresh. Has the speed to sit up front and will be prominent for a long way.
RAINBOW THIEF will be much better when he gets over a longer distance but on his home track and may run cheeky race at massive odds.
Tip: MISS ALBANIA
RED CAN MAN finished too well to win at Group 3 level at Caulfield two back then was beaten less than a length last start after poor start. He can win this.
GROUNDSWELL resumes from spell. Finished last prep with a close placing in Listed company up in Brisbane and if forward enough he will be right in the mix.
KING MAGNUS has race fitness on a few of these and he is in winning form. Takes on tougher company but hard to knock form and would not leave out of multiples.
Tip: RED CAN MAN
HOSIER has made an impressive start to his Australian career winning all three starts in a dominant fashion. Drawn to drive through and control this race and can win again.
VEGAS KNIGHT is racing in consistent form and never far away in his races. Run better than finishing position suggests here last start and he can sneak a place at odds.
TOORADIN won his first couple to begin this prep then has followed up with a couple of sound placings. He will look winner at some stage in straight and cannot leave him out.
GHODELEINE won with something in hand at Hillside two starts back then luckless at The Valley last start. Flemington will suit and with touch more luck she will get her chance.
Tip: HOSIER
REGARDSMAREE is the query resuming from a spell. Produced a sharp turn-of-hoof to win first-up at Bendigo last time in work and if he finds that form fresh he can win this.
KING OF HASTINGS coms back to Melbourne after winning the Listed Glasshouse at Sunshine Coast last start. Always shown ability and will be major player in this field.
THE ASTROLOGIST loves the Flemington straight. Won two in a row then went to Caulfield and got very close in Group 3 company. He can win this.
AYSAR resumes. Chased home strongly when placed in Group 3 company at Caulfield last prep and is yet to miss a place in three first-up tries. Must include.
Tip: REGARDSMAREE
Always had an opinion of COOLTH. Unlucky when just got too far back at The Valley when fresh last time in work. Races well around Flemington and he can get away with this first-up.
THINK ‘N’ FLY looked unlucky when placed behind Degraves here two starts back and protested unsuccessfully. Again held-up at Caulfield last start and should have finished closer. Must include.
GRINZINGER ALLEE was an eye catcher when made good late ground at Caulfield first-up from spell. He won second-up last time in work and sure to be better from the outing.
KINANE has had some support in both runs this time in but he has been little poor. Comes into this ready third-up and look for improvement.
