Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Friday’s Flemington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 7 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: Out 9m entire circuit

Half-brother to W.A. Group 1 winner Elite Street makes his debut in the form of ELITE ICON. He has shown plenty in his jumpouts and happy to be with him at first start.

SMOKIN’ HOLLY has been placed in both provincial starts this campaign and will not be maiden for much longer. Must respect in better chances.

VINLAGO comes into this ready third-up from spell. Placed on heavy at Sale first-up then went to town and was not disgraced. He can sneak a place.

MARANZANO was in the market at Bendigo on debut but just little one paced. Expect he will be better from the race experience and must include.

TREPORTI got his maiden out of the way at The Valley two starts back then beaten just on a length at Caulfield. That form good enough for this.

BAY OF ISLANDS won his maiden at Donald on debut and went for break. Looked in need of the run when tired badly at Caulfield first-up. She will be better from the run.

DAYTONA BAY jumped to the front and was just too speedy around the tight Valley circuit on debut. Expect he will be up front for a long way.

PLACE OF GOLD did it tough at Mornington on debut but still proved too strong for them. Better from the outing and he can measure up to city class.

FOR REAL LIFE only just missed in blanket finish at The Valley last start. Only needs to hold that form in this and she should go close to winning.

RAPID RUBY started long odds on and took care of maiden company at Stony Creek last start. Like her coming to town now she has broken through and she can win this.

YOSEMITE was not beaten all that far at Hillside last start when made late ground. Looks to be plenty of pace early and she will be there to run over them late.

FASHION AVENUE showed good speed to lead them up at Yarra Valley last start but was overran late. If she can get some cover she will be in this for a long way.

RED HAWK created a big impression when he jumped to the front and demolished them at Ballarat on debut. Tipping he will win better races than this.

JOSEYLIN won her maiden two starts back then went to Hillside and missed by barest possible margin. She is racing well enough to be right in the mix.

GAIUS should have been right in the finish at Mornington first-up when badly held-up last 100m. Strips fitter and expect he will give this a shake final stages.

SIGNOR FANGIO won his maiden when fresh at Echuca last prep. May find his best form when first-up and would not leave out of multiples.

EL SALTO looks close to another win. Looked a touch unlucky not to have won at The Valley last start when held-up on the corner. Gets chance to make amends.

TAX FREE PROPHET won with something in hand at Mornington two starts back then caught the eye with late finish at The Valley. Look for him late.

FORTUNE FOLLOWS was sent out favourite last start and he won with something in hand. Deserves chance in town this prep and can figure.

STRATEGY was beaten less than 2 lengths at Hillside last start. Only needs to produce that form to be right in the mix again.

Will Clarken brings HILLS across the border first-up from spell. Competitive in all three runs last time in work and she can win this fresh.

THE RUNNING MAN was beaten less than a length at Mornington first-up from spell. Sure to be better from that outing and would not leave him out of place chances.

A GOOD YARN has not been beaten all that far in any of his three starts this time in. Rock hard fit and looks nice each way bet in this field.

AREYOULISTENING has been solid with three placings from last four starts and would not be surprised if snuck a place.

Liked the way STARDEN LASS worked home between runners here when placed last start. Looking for her to be hitting the line hard in this.

JOLTIN’ JOE won three back then he has been solid with two city placings since. Only needs that form to be right in the mix again.

Liked the way AS I PLEASE powered home to get the job done first-up at Warrnambool. This tougher but is fitter and can measure up to these.

WEGOBAM has been a model of consistency having been placed in all three starts this time in and she looks close to a win.
