Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Eagle Farm meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: Out 6m from 1600m to 1000m, 8m the remainder
Eagle Farm R1 – Class 3 Handicap 1600m
Liked the way that WHITEWATER got to the line from mile off them at Doomben last start. He will be giving them a start but watch for him to be making good late ground.
SEA PALLING was impressive winning at Ipswich last start in similar race. Only needs to produce that form here to be right in the mix.
KENNY BOY could be the one for first four players at odds. Only claimed late at Sunshine Coast last start and he will make own luck rolling forward.
Tip: WHITEWATER
Eagle Farm R2 – BM78 Handicap 1200m
UNCOMMON JAMES resumes from spell. Got his maiden out of the way at second start then was much too smart in Listed company last start. Smart and can win.
NEVER PAID gave them a galloping lesson at Gold Coast last start and that made it two in a row this campaign. Only needs to hold that form to be in the mix.
SAFEWORK is a smart gelding resuming from a break. Sure to be better from the outing but look for him to be making good ground final stages.
Tip: UNCOMMON JAMES
Eagle Farm R3 – Gold Crown (Listed) 2150m
OUR INTRIGUE looks the one to beat in this. Just missed in the Ipswich Cup last start and from ideal barrier here she will get ideal run and can go one better.
REBEL RAMA was beaten less than 2 lengths at Rosehill last start. She will keep grinding away last 200m and should get close final stages.
ELUSIVE JEWEL rarely runs a bad race. Not beaten all that far at Randwick last start and would not leave out of exotics.
Tip: OUR INTRIGUE
Eagle Farm R4 – Tattersall’s Cup (Group 3) 2400m
BONNY EZRA was a strong winner at Scone three starts back then he has not been beaten far in two Sydney efforts since. If he brings that form north he will be right in the mix.
ESTI FENY fought the race out strongly when beaten less than 2 lengths in the Q22 last start. That a much better race than this and if he brings that form he can win.
Liked the way LUNASNIT hit the line when just out of placings in the Brisbane Cup last start. She will get back but watch for her to be running on into minor placing.
Tip: BONNY EZRA
Eagle Farm R5 – Battled Of The Bush (FINAL) 1200m
Tough race to assess. Settled on something each way on MOSCINI. Won his qualifier by over 7 lengths at Nanango last start and although drawn wide will go close in this.
AHWAHNEECHEE has plenty of early speed and he can get across from his horror barrier and if he gets a breather middle stages will take catching.
V J DAY just keeps winning making it five in a row at Chinchilla last start. Another that will make own luck rolling forward and he may try and steal this from the corner.
Tip: MOSCINI
Eagle Farm R6 – Three-years-old Fillies Set Weights 1200m
PUTONTHEREDLIGHT was not beaten all that far in Listed company last start. She gets back in right race here and happy to have something on her in this.
AVOLONTE has been impressive winning two starts leading into this. Dominant on the heavy two back then backed that up last start when won from up on the speed. She will take catching.
BURNING BELL just keeps measuring up as she works through her classes. She has won three straight and from ideal barrier draw can win again.
Tip: PUTONTHEREDLIGHT
Eagle Farm R7 – Life Members Stakes 2yo (Listed) 1400m
STROLL beat a similar field to this winning the Bill Carter Stakes last start. She has drawn perfectly and if she brings that form her she can win again.
METALLICITY was making good late ground from the back in the Oxlade Stakes last start. He will get back but if leaders stop he could be the one to watch for late.
RESISTABLE showed good speed before sprinting clear to win maiden on debut. Looks smart and no reason cannot progress to city class.
Tip: STROLL
Eagle Farm R8 – Tattersall’s Tiara (Group 1) 1400m
Sticking with BROOKLYN HUSTLE again. She keeps grabbing my attention the way she has been finishing off her races and her effort in the Stradbroke was super. Something each way again.
ANNAVISTO usually finds her best form when fresh from a spell. Won three of four starts when first-up and she must be included on that stat alone.
SNAPDANCER is going to have to do some work from her horror barrier draw but if she can find the fence and get a breather middle stages she may steal this from the corner.
Tip: BROOKLYN HUSTLE
Eagle Farm R9 – W.J.Healy Stakes (Group 3) 1200m
KING OF SPARTA powered home and won the Magic Millions Guineas two starts back then may have had enough at Randwick before break. Placed in all three placings and must consider.
Only race fitness that cost GARIBALDI first-up when chased home the speedy Boomnova. Drawn awkwardly but strips fitter and can get away with this.
SHOOTING FOR GOLD is another drawn out in the car park but thought his run to finish just out of placings in the Moreton Cup first-up. He will be in mix again.
