Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Doomben | Wed 15th June

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s Doomben meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 5

Rail Position: Out 10m entire circuit

Really liked the trial win of IDONEUS at Doomben 840m (51.83) 7/6 when won but over a length. Expect she will be well supported on debut and happy to have something each way.

SPIRIT OF MILAN is another debutant who won her trial with something in hand Doomben 1000m (1:01.70) 7/6. Drawn to get the perfect run and must consider.

SIX SIDES was placed on the heavy ground at Ipswich on debut then went to the poly track and held her ground final stages. She can sneak a minor spot in this.

Going to go with the race experience of SPIRITUALISED. He comes into this first-up from a spell. Placed in both starts at first prep and if he can overcome wide gate her can break maiden status.

SKIPPY was sent out favourite at Ipswich on debut and thought his effort was solid to finish just out of placings. Better from the race experience and he will be right in the mix.

MAJORELLE has been placed in both runs this time in. He deserves a maiden win after consistent form and will not get better chance than this.

Was hard not to be impressed with the dominant trial win of PRIMAL LOCKDOWN on the poly track. He won by over 5 lengths and looked to have something in hand. Big watch on debut.

FLYING DEPUTY resumes from a spell. He was placed at only start back in the spring of 2021. Been good in both trials leading into this and from inside gate her should make presence felt.

AMBITIOUS SPIRIT did not look at home on the heavy ground first-up but still ran well enough. Better from the outing and will get better ground here.

RAPID RESPONSE beat Kindling Spirit in similar race here last start. She had been racing consistently in NSW prior and this a nice race for her to return to winners stall.

KINDLING SPIRIT comes into this ready third-up from a spell. She has filled placing in both runs back and from ideal barrier draw she can get away with this.

RAKKAUS resumes from a spell. She won her maiden with something in hand at Sunshine Coast on debut then was placed at Ipswich before break. Two trials will have her ready for this.

MAJESTIC COLOUR has come back in super form this prep. She won her maiden in town fresh then relished the heavy with a dominant win last start. Drawn ideally and can win again.

TAREX raced up on the speed before sprinting clear final stages to win with ease fresh. Drawn to go forward again and no reason he cannot make it two in a row.

ROYAL BALLET was placed on the heavy at Scone two starts back then totally out classed in Group 2 company last start. She gets back in right race and can bounce back.

DUCHESS ROTHESAY just looked in need of the run when drove late to just miss at Sunshine Coast first-up from break. Better from the outing and can go one better.

GWAN SO ran up to be in the finish on the poly track last start but just peaked late. If he can get an easier run here he can figure in the finish.

GENERAL WOLFFE is always competitive in his races and finds similar task here. Would not leave him out of exotics.

Liked the way HOT SPRING GOLD finished the race off when just out of placings first-up. Sure to strip fitter and this a winnable race.

PETUNIA ran on strongly and got up last stride to win on the poly track two starts back then beaten less than 2 lengths at Ipswich last start. Drawn awkwardly but watch for her late.

BRAVE WARRIOR controlled the race from the front for the easiest of wins at Ipswich last start. If he gets similar lead here he will take some catching.

AVOLONTE raced up on the speed on the heavy ground here last start and when let down straightening quickly put a space on them. No reason she cannot win again.

EL VENCEDOR is a Kiwi who has come to Australia and raced in a couple of hot races. Gets back to his right class and will be an improver.

KUDU sat up in first couple before proving a little too smart for them at Ipswich last outing. Going to need some luck from his wide gate but cannot dismiss.
