Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Eagle Farm meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: +6 entire circuit
TUTUKAKA should break his maiden status in this. Placed in all three starts including Listed company last outing. He looks the winner and it should be comprehensive.
BALMAURICE was beaten less than a length at Ipswich last start and placed previous start. He can fill the quinella spot behind the short favourite.
GENERAL WOLFFE comes out of the same blanket finish as Balmaurice at Ipswich last start and he can fill the trifecta spot.
CALPURNIA is a filly who comes off a Rockhampton placing. Will find this too tough but may be the one for first four players to throw in.
Tip: TUTUKAKA
REDOUTE’S IMAGE looked impressive winning at Sunshine Coast last start when she sprinted away final stages and won as she liked. Third-up from spell and she can make it two in a row.
BETTER THAN BEST was beaten less than 2 lengths at Gold Coast first-up from spell. She has won two of three second-up from spell and expect she will go close.
MICROWAVE JENNY did not get all that much luck late at Gold Coast last start and should have finished closer. Fitter and if she gets better run in transit will make presence felt.
SUPER ONE SUSIE has begun this prep in super form winning both runs back. Comes to town and although this is harder cannot knock winning form.
Tip: REDOUTE’S IMAGE
MASS DESTRUCTION just left his run a stride too late when beaten by barest possible margin here last start. Drawn to get all the favours in behind the speed and he gets his chance to go one better.
KINGSTON’S HERE showed them a clean pair of hooves when jumped to the front and kept running at Gold Coast last start. If he can find the front her he will be tough to run down.
Run of GAROPPOLO was much better than finishing position suggests in Listed company last start when beaten less than 2 lengths. He has awkward gat but cannot leave out.
KAVAK will be enormous odds but he comes into this third-up from spell and may sneak into a placing in a much tougher race.
Tip: MASS DESTRUCTION
ZAYYDANI made a triumphant Queensland debut at the Gold Coast when powered away last 200m. She was placed in Listed company in Adelaide two starts back and can measure up to these.
LA GRISA comes north third-up from spell. She has not been beaten all that far in a couple of nice races in Sydney and looks definite place chance in this field.
Gosford Cup winner POLLY GREY just did not finish the race off well enough here last start. She had won previous couple back in NSW and chances will be enhanced if rain persists.
WALKING FLYING was doing her best work final stages from the back here last start but never threatened. Last couple better than finishing positions suggests and out to this trip ideal.
Tip: ZAYYDANI
Hard to fault the form of AHWAHNEECHEE. He has won four of last five starts and missed by barest possible margin in other run. Knows how to win and looks a safe each way bet.
Long time BOLLENTE has run a bad race. Won three of his last four starts and from his perfect barrier draw should be in the mix for a long way.
TANGO RAIN has drawn closer to where he is trained in Mount Isa than the inside rail but he has won last three convincingly and must include in chances.
MANILA MISS is a promising Rockhampton trained mare who has not ran a bad race for a long time. Expect she will make her presence felt.
Tip: AHWAHNEECHEE
INCENTIVISE should just win. Looks an exciting stayer in the making and will be the most anticipated runner of the day.
MIRAGE DANCER is an old stager who was well beaten first-up from spell but he has taken on some top class races in his time and can sneak a placing behind the favourite.
SOUTHERN FRANCE has not found much form this time but if he finds his fresh form when competitive in Group 1 class he will fill a place in this.
TRADUCE was not disgraced in the Ipswich Cup without threatening. Won a couple in a row this track earlier in his campaign and may figure for first four players.
Tip: INCENTIVISE
DEVIL’S TEMPTATION controlled the race from the front before dashing away last 200m for soft win at Gold Coast. Expect he will use his gate and try and lead again and he will take catching.
SHOOTING FOR GOLD resumes from spell. He rushed home to win the Winning Rupert at Doomben first-up last time in work and if he produces anything like that here he will be right in the mix.
THE SINNER is another fresh from a spell. Has won two of his four first-up tries and he will be enormous odds in this and cannot leave him out of place chances.
WUDANG BLAZE gave them a galloping lesson at Casino two starts back then backed that up with placing behind Desert Man last start. Drawn perfectly and must respect.
Tip: DEVIL’S TEMPTATION
BROOKLYN HUSTLE won Group 3 two starts back then backed that up with Group 2 win in the Dane Ripper this track last start. She gets her chance to progress to Group 1 level and win here.
Group 1 Stradbroke winner TOFANE comes back to her own sex at weight-for-age and no reason she cannot make it two Group 1 wins in a row.
ROCHA CLOCK just got lost here in the Sapphire last start but really liked the way she got to the line. Obviously taking on top class her but think she is up to it.
NUDGE has found a purple patch of form since coming to Queensland winning the Group 3 Pam O’Neill then the Sapphire this track last start. Harder but cannot knock winning form.
Tip: BROOKLYN HUSTLE
Going to finish the day with something each way on HIGHTAIL at odds. Has solid first-up record (6:2-2-0) and with what looks to be plenty of speed in this he could be the one to finish all over the top of these.
EXHILARATES won at Listed level here two starts back then she got lost in the Dane Ripper and could not make up the ground. Drawn to get ideal run off a solid place and would expect plenty of improvement in this.
HILO was an eye catcher late when just out of the placings in the Hinkler first-up. Sure to be better from that outing and he will be a threat late.
KING OF HASTINGS comes into this ready third-up from spell. Just did not finish well enough in the Hinkler but would not leave him out of multiples in this.
