T: Annabel Neasham /J: James McDonald (59kg)
Brilliant former British galloper who has thrived in Australia under Annabel Neasham. Won this race last year by 7 lengths leading all the way and led all the way last start to win the Hollindale at the Gold Coast brilliantly. Is fit, too fast and too good. Should win.
T: Andrew Forsman / J: Opie Bosson (59kg)
Good tough stayer who often shows up at this level. Poor run in the Sydney Cup but has been freshened and may place at big odds.
T: Chris Waller/ J: Jim Byrne (59kg)
Three runs back was beaten 10 lengths in the Gr 1 George Ryder. Two starts back was beaten 18 lengths in the Gr 1 All Aged Stakes. Last start was beaten 16 lengths by Zaaki. No.
T: Chris Waller /J: James Orman (59kg)
Is a dab hand in the wet. Resumed from a spell with a solid Listed level win over a mile in the mud then last start made solid ground late when a good 3rd to Zaaki in the Hollindale over 1800m. Yet to win this trip though. Place.
T: Chris Waller / J: Willy Pike (59kg)
Not sure WFA is his go but he is very honest and is in form. Loves it wet too. Made impressive ground late to run a closing 2nd in the recent 2080m Gosford Cup. Will be running on.
T: Team Snowden / J: Kerrin McEvoy (59kg)
Interesting galloper. He has a great deal of talent and he loomed last start against Zaaki but died on his run and ran 4th beaten 4 lengths. Now, 3rd up, he strips 2 lengths fitter here and at a trip he has a great record at. Chance.
T: John O’Shea / J: Nash Rawiller (59kg)
Had a good record in England but hasn’t fired up in 3 starts in Oz. Not keen.
T: Matt Smith / J: Ryan Maloney (59kg)
Smart enough when right and had good stakes form in Europe. But hasn’t really shown enough yet to say he is in Zaaki’s class. So later.
T: Chris Waller/ J: Tim Clark (57kg)
Good tough mare who certainly is up to this. Loves the mud and this trip. After leading all the way at Randwick thrashing subsequent Cup winner Numerian, she came to Qld and ran Zaaki to less than a length. She is flying and she will be dashing late.
T: Robbie Patterson / J: Samantha Collett (57kg)
Multiple Gr 1 winner from New Zealand. Raced in the Hollindale the other day and was 5th too Zaaki. Has to find 4 lengths to beat him but should improve off that run.
