T; Chris Waller / J: Damien Oliver (59kg)
Former really good galloper over this trip and in this grade. Does take a while to find best form and is 3rd up here but may find them too swift over the last 200m.
T: Joe Pride / J: Brenton Avdulla (59kg)
Is the one to beat clearly as his form has been out of this world good of late. Can run a mile and just rockets home late. Building a case to be the best horse in the land so should win this if he is to be called that.
T: James Cummings / J; James McDonald (59kg)
Back to his very best winning past two in Sydney in very impressive style. Sat back off the pace in those wins and savaged the line. This is harder and comes back 200m but he is very smart and is the best looking horse in the race.
T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / J: Tim Clark (59kg)
I’m on this bloke for a good amount. He looks the logical leader and being a Gr 1 winner and being super fit I see him leading them to the bend then extending and be well clear at the clock tower. They will need to be very, very strong to peg him back. Have in your numbers.
T: Team Hayes / J: Craig Williams (59kg)
Good, solid handicapper at this trip and is pretty consistent. Been racing against the top drawer this time up and going well enough. Loves the mile and he should be making serious ground late.
T: Leon McDonald & Andrew Gluyas / J: John Allen (59kg)
Always a threat on big race days and he is 4th up here. Will be big odds but he is a classy Gr 1 galloper when his head is in the game and he is racing quite well. Place show.
T: Andrew Forsman /J: Jamie Kah (59kg)
Was out of form for a long while but this time up has improved. This is a few lengths tougher than last start win though.
T: Lindsey Smith/ J: Jarrod Fry (59kg)
This is a really strong and vastly improved racehorse. Has raced 13 times, won 8 and placed 5 times showing his honesty for $1,112,000. Last start with 53.5kg was on speed when a tough Gr 1 winner of the Toorak this trip. Will be in the hunt all the way.
T: Annabel Neasham / J: John Allen (59kg)
My be more than a passing chance. His European form included Gr 1 racing and on debut in Australia last start stormed home to win the Gr 2 Crystal Mile at The Valley easily beating Banker’s Choice in rather impressive manner. This is harder but he may well be up to it.
T: Tracey Bartley / J: Nash Rawiller (59kg)
Good, strong Sydneysider but is up to WFA conditions here. Is 2nd up after a luckless 5th to Vilana in the Silver Eagle. Fitter now, loves to run home hard this trip but grade will test.
T: Team Freedman /J: Ben Melham (59kg)
Has talent enough but likes it a little shorter and will struggle late this grade.
