Horse Racing Tips – Friday 15th October

Racing expert, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his top three racing tips for the  Bathurst and Taree meetings. Good luck, punters! 

The prospect of a heavy 8 track and a mare lumping 63kg around is rather daunting but DENACE receives a welcome 3kg claim and that brings her into the well weighted realm. Today she is 3rd up from a spell and after winning when resuming she came up against a red hot BM 66 field and ran a credible 4th. She goes up 4kg here but she drops enormously in class. Should peak here and settle about 3rd to the bend. MAKUBA has been heavily backed so have as quinella bet.

Tip: DENACE @ $2.50

I think we need to look down to the lightly raced bottom weighted horses to find the winner here. lots of money has piled in for the filly SPELLZ who will get back and run on. As will DOUBTLESS WONDER who was a strong 3rd on debut. But because they will get back I think MYCAH LEON can steal a march here. His only start was here when 3rd over 1200m. But today I think from this gate he might go forward and be on speed. Less tempo in mid race to deal with should help make that decision. From there could be too nippy late but Spellz should be flashing home.

I just love a horse in form who gets into a race perfectly. MARGIE BEE should have some fun here. She likes to lead and is super fit. I suspect she goes forward and is unchallenged from the get go. From there she will carve out her own sectionals and just power away when they turn. LA JOLIE FILLE is the 2nd choice as she was heavily backed and won last start but she’s up against a mare here who really looks thrown in.
