Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Wednesday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the day. Good luck, punters!
Warwick Farm R2 – Mdn (3YO+) Hcp 1400m
The market says there is a very smart one here. His name is STEP ASIDE who was 2nd on debut at this level. He is trained by Chris Waller and will be ridden by James McDonald. He led them up over 1300m at his first race start, also in town, and was cut down on the line. Will have derived enormous benefit from that outing.
Tip: STEP ASIDE
Geelong R3 – Maiden Plate (3YO) 1400m
There has been quite the considerable move overnight for this bloke resuming named LET’S ROLL. His past two efforts have been at Goulburn where we know the level there is pretty much provincial grade nowadays. So that makes him well placed here. Form from his placing at Goulburn is first rate too. Money for THE WOKE WAITOR so I’m having the quinella bet too.
Tip: LET’S ROLL
Warwick Farm R5 – BM72 (3YO+) 1600m
Plenty of speed in this but I do think these stayers trained by Gai and Adrian resuming from spells over a mile are just money-for-jam. And we get one here in the form of THE MILKYBAR KID. I suspect even with his big 61kg weight that he rolls forward from this wide draw and sets the tempo. They will all wait until the they turn before making a move but he will be off and gone at the 600m setting up too big a break for them to catch him.
Tip: THE MILKYBAR KID
Geelong R8 – BM64 Hcp 1100m
I just love a horse 3rd up who showed something when resuming and this Team Hayes trained TRAMONTANA is that horse here. He won at this grade surprisingly then came to town and failed. Fitter now, back in BM 64, gets the gun run and wins from GRINZINGER PRINCE who is also 3rd up.
Tip: TRAMONTANA
Warwick Farm R7 – BM72 (3YO + c&g) Hcp 1400m
Interesting race. I do think this very co0nsistent Godolphin runner HUON can land the prize. He’s had 8 starts to date for 3 wins and 5 placings. That level of consistency, the last few at this level, says he is very competitive. Add in the fact Nash rides and he has drawn gate 2, well he just looks the ultimate get out bet if you’re behind on the date.
