Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the weekend. Good luck, punters!

NATURE STRIP is virtually unbeatable down the Flemington straight. Thought he was a little stiff in The Everest when James McDonald did not have all that much luck early from wide draw early and that made him vulnerable late when swamped late.

He produced a breathtaking run in this race last year and expect he will get a soft lead and just be too speedy for these and make it two in a row.

Tip: NATURE STRIP

PRIVATE EYE is racing in super form having won two of three this prep and the other run was beaten by Giga Kick in The Everest by barest possible margin. Won the Gilgai down the Flemington straight to begin this campaign.

With Alligator Blood in the field he should get the pace on up front and will have last crack at them final stages. The big Flemington straight is sure to suit and he can add another big mile to his already impressive record.

Tip: PRIVATE EYE

How can you possibly tip against ANAMOE. He is clearly best Weight-for-Age horse in Australia and comes off a dominant W.S.Cox Plate win last start. The made it four Group 1 wins from four starts this time in and although first time around Flemington the big track will suit and with the “red hot” James McDonald aboard he can finish the carnival off on a high.

Tip: ANAMOE

ELECTRIC GIRL loomed as the winner last time out at Randwick two weeks ago and she only went down narrowly to Promise Of Success on that occasion.
She should get a gun run from the ideal barrier and gets a favorable firm surface from which she has won 6 races and placed another 6 times from her 19 attempts. Looks like the one to beat on those stats.

Tip: ELECTRIC GIRL

ELLSBERG, although he has never seen the trip, clearly looks the one they will have to beat in this new $2M event the Five Diamonds. Two starts back he won the Epsom G1 nicely and followed that up with another impressive win in the Diamond Prelude on Oct 15 after dictating the pace throughout.

Tom Berry jumps on board today, he is an inform jockey after a gem of a winning ride in the Oaks and if can run the journey out, he will be the one they will all have to get past in the run home.

Tip: ELLSBERG
