Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the weekend. Good luck, punters!
Ascot Race 8 – Northerly Stakes (Group 1) 1800m
Tip: AMELIA’S JEWEL
Ascot Race 6 – Jungle Dawn Classic 1400m
SENTIMENTAL QUEEN looks to be well suited in this very open affair. This 6YO mare should get a nice trail in behind the speed and will be finishing off well at the business end.
Her first up from a spell form is first rate with 2 wins and 2 placings from those 5 efforts and is coming off 2 recent trials at Lark Hill. Appears nice each way value.
Tip: SENTIMENTAL QUEEN
Pakenham Race 7 – Pakenham Cup (Listed) 2500m
Tip: MILFORD
Rosehill Race 9 – Kia Ora Prague Handicap 1100m
I AM ME looks the best of the day here at Rosehill in this benchmark 88 event. She had the perfect run in behind the speed last time out and proved far too strong for them at the line, winning with plenty in hand.
Won a recent trial to keep her ticking over and although wont get the cold sit like last start, if Tommy Berry can find a position in the run, look for her to be simply too classy for het opponents here.
Tip: I AM ME
Doomben Race 8 – George Moore Stakes 1200m
On a heavy track today at Doomben I’m looking down in the weights and have come up with SAMOOT in this nice listed affair. This 5yo mare from the Kris Lees stable is coming up from NSW and has been racing quite consistently, coming off a 6th in the Group 2 Hot Danish at Rosehill last time out.
She has the form on heavy in the past winnimg twice and Jim Byrne jumps on today. WIth the lightweight and the track conditions, look for her to be running all over them at the line.
