Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the weekend. Good luck, punters!

Going for the straight track specialist in HALVORSEN here. He has won 5 times on this course and has been in the money 5 of his 6 second up runs also. He ran very well on Oaks day coming from back in the field only to go down by 2.6L.

He has the top weight which he deserves and has proven in the past he can carry weight. With the smaller field on hand today, I can see him running all over them late. Each way forever!

Tip: HALVORSEN

This Group 2 looks ready made for STEINEM. She looked unlucky not to finish closer to Amelia’s Jewel in the recent Northerly here at Ascot and was only beaten 1.5L coming home in third place.

She should find this way easier than that Group 1 Classic and with John Allen staying over in WA for the ride, she should be given every chance from the low draw to sit in behind the speed and prove how classy this girl is at the business end.

Tip: STEINEM

KOVALICA gave them a galloping lesson last time out at Doomben after a couple of nice wins in Sydney. This 3yo gelding from the Waller camp was heavily backed and he certainly looks to have a bright future ahead of him over these longer journeys.
James Orman retains the ride and if he holds that same form and condition, this boy should be winning again.

Tip: KOVALICA

Can HOLYFIELD turn the tables on Emerald Kingdom this time around? I’m tipping that this 5yo gelding will get the cold sit on him and the extra 50m will be a bonus.Comes in with a kilo less and enjoys the 1400 although he has not won at Eagle Farm in 4 previous attempts.

Just needs the luck in running and if he gets a top ride like last time out, will definitely be the one to beat.

Tip: HOLYFIELD

In what appears to be the main race of the day I AM ME looks the best of the day at Randwick. First up he proved far too strong for them in the run home and last start jumped in front and they couldn’t get near him.

Drawn in one and JMac on board, I can’t see any reason why he won’t either lead or take the trail and then be the one they have to get past in the run for home. Looks a good bet and anchor in the quaddie.
