Friday Horse Racing Tips – Canterbury 10th december

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Canterbury meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Heavy 8

Rail Position: True entire course

There is an odds on pop here in MISS DELIA who has placed at her past two this grade. But I’m tipping she gets rolled. I like the look of SON OF EMPEROR in this. He just appeals as both a progressive type and an honest conveyance. He is 3rd up here. Ran 2nd last start in a real gutsy effort behind a horse who was placed in better company at Wyong yesterday. Should strip immeasurably fitter for this, has Hughie on top and just appeals a great deal.  Put the other mare in as well for the quinella.

Tip: SON OF EMPEROR @ $3.80

I have always been a big fan of horses coming back to race after a sterling first-up effort. And on debut the topweight in this BROKEN HILL  jumped straight onto the bunny, led a similar field and fought on doggedly to run 3rd. That experience will do him the world of good. He has been heavily backed overnight too which is always a terrific sign. Has the inside gate here. Has Hughie to steer and should go straight to the front and I suspect run them off their feet. It is predicted to be very wet by the time this race is run and on debut he ran on a heavy track. Loves it wet too.

Tip: BROKEN HILL @ $2.90

A fascinating race here. I kinda think there is a racehorse in this former Victorian MIRACLE DAY. He is tough and has found a winning groove since moving north to the stable of Kris Lees. Humped 62kg on a very wet track last start, 2nd up and bolted in at Newcastle. This is lengths stronger but the track will be heavy by the time he races and he has a proven love of the mud. NIKAU can run on hard here first-up too.  Quinella them.

Tip: MIRACLE DAY @ $3.00
