Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s Sandown Hillside meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Soft 5
Rail Position: Out 5m entire circuit
YALTARA has looked good in both jumpouts. Beautifully bred filly and from ideal barrier with Jamie Kah aboard on debut she can win this.
BREAKING GROUND is a half-brother to Group 2 winner Gypsy Diamond. Been solid in last couple of Flemington jumpouts and looks ready for the racetrack.
NAVY GIRL is another debutant from the Maher/Eustace stable. Won Ararat jumpout then was placed in recent Cranbourne jumpout. Big watch.
Tip: YALTARA
STATE SQUAD won at Moe three starts back then last couple has run into placings. This looks nice race for him and he can win this.
TEOFILO STAR looked like he would benefit from the run at Ballarat first-up. He showed good speed to lead and was only run down final stages. Goes forward and will be fitter for this.
IRISH BUTTERFLY gets back in an easier race here. Not beaten all that far in the Mount Gambier Cup two starts back and that form would be good enough for this.
Tip: FIELDS OF IVY
BLISTERING finished too well winning at Stony Creek three starts back then not been beaten far in next couple. She will get back but watch for her last 200m.
SOLSTICE relished the heavy ground at Bendigo first-up and finished too well to win. Likely to get similar conditions here and she must be included in chances.
OJOSAN comes into this ready third-up from spell. Placed in both runs back from spell and although awkwardly drawn must respect.
Tip: BLISTERING
BENEFICIO won her maiden fresh then led them up for a long way at Caulfield last start when just found one better late. She comes into this third-up from spell and can win again.
MISS BALVENIE finished too well and got the prize at Horsham first-up from spell. Takes on harder race in town but would not leave out.
SNIPER LEGEND should have won at Cranbourne first-up when just arrived stride too late. Fitter from the outing and would not be surprised to see him in mix.
Tip: BENEFICIO
IMPERIAL HILTON resumes from spell. His run was too bad to be true at Ballarat when first-up last prep before even effort in town in Adelaide. He is better than that and would watch market closely.
DARCEANDERMILL chased home a smart one on the heavy at Bendigo last start and ran into second spot. May get wet conditions and he will be in the mix.
ENIGMA resumes from a break. She has been placed in two of three first-up and raced consistently last time in work. Cannot leave her out.
Tip: IMPERIAL HILTON
OCEANA BLUE started favourite on debut and she won as she liked at Geelong. Had break since and despite wide barrier happy to put her on top.
SIGOURNEY fought the race out strongly and got the job done at Sale last start. Drawn to get the perfect run in transit and no reason she cannot win again.
MISS KEELER finally got her maiden out of the way with a soft win at Pakenham last start. Now she has won she may go on in better race.
Tip: OCEANA BLUE
LAYBUY just wanted to overrace at Lakeside last start and did not finish race off well enough. His previous form had been solid and he can bounce back in this field.
EAGLEMONT won at Ballarat when first-up. He has not been beaten all that far in two city runs since and would not leave out of winning chances.
EXCELLERATION finished too well and got head down at the right time to win Kerang Cup last start. Comes into this third-up and can win again.
Tip: LAYBUY
VISINARI jumped to the front and gave nothing else a chance when he bolted in at Pakenham last start. If he shows similar speed he will take some catching.
MARIMENKO is threatening to win at this level. Placed in three of last four starts and gets his chance to return to winners stall.
BLACK BOLT won here two starts back then he just wanted to overrace last start and did not finish well enough. Drawn in car park but can sneak into minor spot.
