POETIC CHARMER is one of those horses who always gets out in the market to a really good price then storms home and places. Will do all that again here.
RUSTIC STEEL is rising in class but he has the talent to be a stakes horse and may just blow these all away. Is 3rd up and super fit.
TAKSU is talented and in form. Good win last start in weaker race but looked smart and is fitter now 3rd up.
Tip: 1. RUSTIC STEEL
This visiting Kiwi, REGAL LION is very strong. He can run a very solid 2400m and was placed in the recent Gr 1 NZ Derby over 2400m. Generally when these tough types come here they run very well in Sydney.
His stablemate WHITE NOISE is just as good and in fact has better form over this trip. looks well placed from this gate and is expected to go very close.
SWORD POINT is a strong and talented stayer in the making. Is on home track here and is very fit. Jay Mac rides.
Tip: 1. WHITE NOISE
KRONE would win this comfortably if the old Krone turned up. She has had 3 starts this campaign and hasn’t run up to her very best. Still, even those runs are good enough on a wet track to be in this.
VANGELIC will take beating. She is 3rd up here and is beautifully weighted. Will lead and kick off the bend which will give her a near winning head start.
MIRRA VISION is good in the wet and her 2nd at Gr 1 level last start was a terrific run. Must be considered.

DAJRAAN is fit. Â Must be in your numbers.
BRUTALITY is a smart horse and now 3rd up he should run boldly in this. Gets back and runs on hard, likes it damp too.
IMAGING resumes here and it looks tough on paper but he is particularly good first-up. He also loves the mud so expect him to run a blinder on his home track.

Super race.
Can THINK IT OVER run out a strong Gr 1 level 2400m? well, the way he made ground late when 2nd in the recent Gr 1 Australian Cup over 2000m running past SPANISH MISSION that day says he can. He has drawn perfectly, is amazingly honest and tough as teak. Must be considered.
Spanish Mission is a Melbourne Cup place getter so you know he will. Is 3rd up here and is ready to show his true self.
SHE’S IDEEL is in fact the ideal horse for this race. Likes it wet, loves the trip and is very fit. Will storm down the centre of the track late.
DUAIS brilliantly won the Gr 1 Australian Cup and she can stay this trip right out too. Is extremely fit, is capable of winning this, has won up to 2200m but has a poor record on heavy tracks.

What a great contest. YEARNING is a quality filly and she is 3rd up into this after two good runs to get her in shape. Will have to go back to near the rear from this grade but there will be a lot of pace early so she can wind up and dash late. Did win brilliantly 3rd up last prep.
HINGED is a star. She is simply too good and too honest to leave out. Will be one of the hardest to beat on her home track.
Is this Queensland filly GYPSY GODDESS up to this level? Hmmm, one would think so given she has raced 5 times for 5 wins, the easiest of them have been big margin victories over this sort of trip in stakes races. Might be a superstar.
If they leave NEVER BEEN KISSED alone in front running along at her own speed, then she will win. Is already a Gr 1 winner and is 3rd up here. Respect her talents.

Tough race to work out. So many scratchings too. BANDERSNATCH is resuming but the heavy might play into his hands. Has ability at this level.
SPLINTEX is a quality speedster on his day and tends to take a run of two to get right. Thrashed when resuming and 4th behind three Gr 1 winners and is better placed here.
GRAVINA is very honest but is stepping up in class. Saying that, she hits the line hard and is lightly weighted. Is also 3rd up.
