Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s Sandown Lakeside meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Soft 5
Rail Position: Out 4m entire circuit
TORONTO TERRIER chased home strongly behind a smart one on debut. Expect he will be better from the race experience and from ideal barrier he goes on top.
PRINCE OF CAIRO looked impressive winning his only trial at Geelong. From astute stable and he will give this a shake on debut.
TOUCH OF NAVY is a beautifully bred colt making his debut for the Price/Kent stable. Would keep an eye to see if any stable support.
Tip: TORONTO TERRIER
HEALING GAME arguably should have finished closer to smart winner at Cranbourne on debut after being held-up. Better from the experience and from ideal barrier can win this.
SIR PHOENIX resumes from spell. He was placed in last three starts before break and if forward enough first-up will give this a shake.
SUSANNE JOY was enormous when placed on debut at Geelong after having a torrid run. She will be better from that outing and can figure in this.
STAGGER TOGETHER fought the race out strongly when just found one better first-up. Strips fitter and he can sneak into a placing.
Tip: HEALING GAME
MURRAMI EXPRESS deserves a win this campaign. Placed in all three starts this time in and this looks right race for him to return to winners stall.
PASCERO was impressive winning with something in hand at Hillside on debut. Drawn to get the perfect run in behind the speed and must include.
IMA SHELBY chased home hard and got the prize at Geelong last start. Drawn to get the perfect run in behind the speed and he will go close.
POUNDING started favourite at Pakenham last start and he chased home strongly to win. Looks to be pace here and he will be there to pounce.
Tip: MURRAMI EXPRESS
NETANYAHU is the big query in this field. First start in Australia and the form he showed in New Zealand suggests he has talent and he can get away with this.
SIDE BET showed nice turn-of-hoof to lead in maiden last start and he finished too well. No reason he cannot measure up to this.
GRINZINGER PRINCE is another coming off a strong last start maiden win. Drawn to get the perfect run in behind the speed and he will take beating.
BEAU NIGHT started favourite in his maiden at Pakenham on debut and after taking over before the corner held them all off for gutsy win. Expect him to be in mix.
Tip: NETANYAHU
SIR PETER looks the likely leader and if he can control this race may have enough left from the corner to steal this. Going to have something each way.
HARD SQUEEZE did not have all that much luck at Caulfield two back when held-up then she did cover ground last start and just battled. She can sneak a place.
Forget the run of GUNS ABLAZING at The Valley last start as rider took off early and he could not sustain run. Previous form good enough for this.
Tip: SIR PETER
MOUNTAIN RANGE won his maiden on the heavy two starts back then he just missed on the Hillside track last start. If he can hold that form he should be in mix again.
HERE TO SHOCK looks ready to find his best form third-up from spell. Not been all that far off them in either run back and must consider.
CRU CLASSE chased home steadily when placed at Warrnambool first-up from spell. Still may need bit further than this but can run a cheeky race.
DOUBLE CHANCE was beaten less than a length at Pakenham last start. Comes into this third-up from spell and would not leave out of multiples.
Tip: MOUNTAIN RANGE
UMGAWA is ready to win third-up from spell. Close up in two strong Flemington races and he gets his chance to go one better in this.
VIA CAPO has been racing in consistent form this time in. Last start Caulfield placings suggests he is ready to return to winners stall.
OCEAN’S JEN did it tough at Cranbourne last start but she still finished too well and got the job done. Third-up and will measure up to this.
Tip: UMGAWA
MINOUCHE won at Newcastle two starts back then she started favourite at Caulfield last start but just found one better. She looks smart enough to get away with this.
CHANGING TRACKS showed an exciting turn-of-hoof to win with ease at Flemington last start. She finds similar race and no reason she will not win again.
HALVOYA made it two wins from her last three starts winning at Moe last start. Deserves her chance in town and would not dismiss.
