Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN previews Saturday’s Randwick , with horse racing tips and analysis for all 10 races on the card. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: Out 3m entire
Randwick R1 – Open 2YO Hcp 1200m
HIMALAISM is on debut here and looks very smart. Normally when Chris Waller enters a horse midweek, then scratches for the Saturday meeting, it means that horse has loads of talent. Keep him safe.
UNCORKED has raced once. She showed speed and fight when narrowly beaten in the Max Lees event for the babies over 900m. On home track now, and has had a barrier trial since then. Will lead these for a very long way.
FIREBURN ran on when 4th in a smilier race on debut. Trip should suit and the experience will help.
Tip: HIMALAISM
Randwick R2 – Â BM72 (3&4YO) Hcp 1400m
BLACK DUKE looks to have talent enough for this. Ran into bother at crucial moments when 4th this company last start. Â Can atone. Respect.
STARMAN might be very smart. Was having just his 4th race start and first from a spell in this company last start yet exploded from midfield to narrowly win but win impressively. Fitter now and in same grade.
SACRIMONY is lightly raced and up in grade but a win and two placings from three starts to date suggests he is very smart. Especially as that last start was a 2nd to Starman who he meets 1.5kg better. Big show.
Tip: SACRIMONY
Randwick R3 – Cl 2 Highway Hcp 1400m
With just five starts under his belt this Scone horse OPTIMO appears here. Came hard from midfield to win his 900m maiden in nice style but it showed he needed longer. Stepped up to 1110m at Dubbo and did the same thing winning even easier then last run was hitting the line harder than anything when 2nd in a midweek at Kensington over 1250m. Â Is very honest.
SHELBY SIXTYSIX certainly has foot on the till. Finished hard and looked to have won this same type of race last start but photo said differently. Deserves to win.
MR BURGUNDRY has only raced twice but his maiden win last start at Gosford was chockfull of merit and potential. May just go bang here. Should settle back and has wheels late.
Tip: SHELBY SIXTYSIX
PRINCE INVISIBLE is having 2nd run this time in. Did show lots of promise last campaign winning 3 from 4 at one stage. Could just go hard early, lead these and keep going. Gives the impression this will suit.
QUEEN BELLISSIMO is so honest and tough. Has won 4 from past 7 starts and was such a game 3rd this grade last start when 2nd up. Super fit now. Â Must be in your numbers.
The gate is tough for HOLLYWOOD GOSSIP but she is in dynamic form and is just so consistent. Won in town at BM 64 level last start being on speed all the way. Looms very large.
Tip: QUEEN BELLISSIMO
Randwick R5 – BM78 Hcp (3YO+ F&M) 1400m
With MUBARIZ being 3rd up here after a pair of solid runs, he rates highly. Gets a welcome 1.5kg claim and has great form this level. Looks to run into this race late and does boast better form then these in the past.
His stablemate WELSH LEGEND may be in for her best campaign. Was an eye-catching 2nd last start when 2nd up and looks perfectly placed here. Â Much fitter now. Big show.
HUETOR is up in grade but he’s won his only two Aussie starts to date and just keeps looking better and better. Must be included. Is very fit.
Tip: 1. WELSH LEGEND
Randwick R6 – BM78 (Females) Hcp 1200m
NICCI’S FLING looks perfectly placed with the 3kg claim and being 3rd up after a couple of third placings this level. Should drive forward and be in the top four all the way. Is such an honest mare.
EXOTIC RUBY has been outstanding this prep winning and then placing in this grade. Must be right in this too especially with the 2kg claim to help.
BITCOIN BABY carries absolutely no weight and although seemingly outclassed and lightly raced, she does have potential.
Tip: 1. NICCI’S FLING
Randwick R7 – BM78 Hcp 1600m
CANASTA doesn’t win often but is very reliable at this level and today is 3rd up which is perfect. Good 4th this grade last start. Will be in the finish.
PRINCE OF ARRAGON ran a much improved race when 3rd up last start to finish 3rd in a not too dissimilar race last start. On home track and gets a 2kg claim. Have in your numbers..
FRANCESCO GUARDI has been threatening to win a race for a few runs, past two have been close-up 2nd placings this level. Has been backed as if unbeatable. Watch market.
Tip: 1. FRANCESCO GUARDI
Randwick R8 – Open Hcp 1400m
Big weight for popular runner FROSTY ROCKS here but gee he is good first-up and he resumes here. Must be included.
LOVE TAP gets into a really suitable race here while very fit. Great 3rd in similar event last start over 1800m which may be a small worry but is ready. Big danger.
BIGBOYROY just doesn’t know how to run a bad race. Gets up on speed and just stays there. Has to be included.
Tip: 1. FROSTY ROCKS
Randwick R9 – Bm88 Hcp (3YO+) 1200m
I think you just have to assume TYCOONIST is a good horse at this level and have in your numbers. Was on pace and a little deep when a terrific 2nd last start when resuming. Must be fitter now.
This Queensland horse GEE TEE TEE must be going well for them to bring him down here. Did look good winning a class 6 first-up at the Sunny Coast last start. That was 6th win so knows what to do. Races well in this grade. Big chance in this.
LIBERTY SUN is very fit and races well when on speed. Will get that opportunity here. Place.
Tip: 1. TYCOONIST
Randwick R10 – BM78 (3YO +) Hcp 1000m
THE BOPPER is a more than handy type at this level. Always runs honestly. resumes here and does normally race well while fresh.
Victorian galloper EASY SINGLE has tons of speed and from this gate should be right on pace all the way. Has solid form south at this level.
Bush galloper LEO is very tough. He is up in class here and is resuming but he is particularly good while fresh. Keep safe.
