Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Tuesday’s Randwick meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: Out 11m from 1000m to w/p, out 8m remainder
Randwick R1 –Â Mdn Hcp 1400m
This Kris Lees youngster LOCH EAGLE has drawn perfectly in 2 and has Hughie to ride. On debut this big son of Lonhro battled on gamely when 2nd to the handy Oh Golly Gosh at Hawkesbury. Should strip much fitter here and did have to negotiate gate 9 last start which didn’t help. Big show.
I AM LETHAL was a strong 2nd when resuming in similar grade too and will be heavily backed here. Bound to rush home late. Â Big danger.
VANBURG showed speed last start and hung on well when 3rd at Warwick Farm this grade this trip. Should be fitter now and expect bold a showing in this.
Tip: LOCH EAGLE
Good, fascinating competitive race coming up. I loved the ay AMERICAN PRESIDENT raced on debut at orange. Hit the line hard to grab 2nd and should derive considerable benefit from that.
This unraced galloper MOUNT SMART is reported to be rather handy. Had ears up and was jogging all the ay down the stretch when winning a recent trial. Hughie rides and should run boldly .
Lots to like about this filly ARRANMORE. She has run 2nd at both her starts to date, both in city maidens like this and under the Plate weights scale, looks perfectly placed. Â Big show.
Tip: ARRANMORE
MISS SURE SHOT resumes here but form last campaign was strong enough to win this. Gets a 3kg claim here, is on home track and trials have been sound. Big show. Respect her.
THE CRIMSON IDOL is 3rd up and both runs have been excellent. Should peak for this and Jenny Duggan’s 2kg claim is so helpful. Big danger.
HOOVER LUCY has her share of talent and after winning maiden was caught up between runners when 5th in this grade. Will run better in this smaller field.
Tip: MISS SURE SHOT
This looks a strong race. LEASE will get back but with the 2kg claim and the fact he’s trained here, plus his form of late is good for this, he does look the one to beat.
GRTACILYSTYLA Â is going to be in this fight for some time. Is getting better every run and the longer trips are appreciated too. Up in class but such a strong, impressive maiden win last start.
ROOTS hit the line like a potential smart one last start when 2nd in better grade than this. That was just 2nd start in a race so must have improved even more. Sure to be strong late.
Tip: 1. ROOTS
Tough race. The big weight is a concern for FRENCH BONNET but she has a lot of talent on her day and is very fit, Did storm home to win an easier race quite easily too starts back. She will let VAN GOGH surge clear and make the running. Up over the rise there won’t be too much between them but benign home track Van Gogh may take a great deal of getting past.
MERLINITE is consistent and fit and should battle away in to the money also.
Tip: 1. VAN GOGH
SIX AGAIN looks perfectly placed. Has tremendous upside and speed. Has won both starts this time up and is getting better. Weighted well here too. Looks the testing material.
DAMAGED is in the strong Richard Litt stable and has Hughie on board. Right there, despite resuming from a spell, that tells you plenty. He is going to take holding out.
SATIN RIBBONS is young and sprightly. She is fast and is on her home track. Up in class here following wins at past two efforts but is emerging.
Tip: 1. SIX AGAIN
ELEBVEN ELEVEN resumes here and comes in with a 3kg claim also which is a big help. Tends to race well fresh and drawn to be just behind speed. Has place claims today.
VULPINE won’t know herself in this with this weight. Should jump and run. Is very fit, ran a cracking race this grade last start when 2nd and is weighted perfectly. Expect a good run.
VALAQUENTA is young and tough and will get back. But does have finishing power and carries no weight today.
Tip:Â 1. VULPINE
What a good contest. Despite all the scratchings. HIGH COURT hasn’t won for a while but past two efforts have been sound and suggest a very bold showing here is likely. Â Respect.
CANYONERO just keeps getting better with racing since joining the Richard Litt yard. No-one could have missed the brilliant finishing burst he displayed last start when 3rd this grade. This is similar but keeps improving.
Terrible draw for JOJO WAS A MAN but he does go hard early so probably comes across and sits on the outside of the leader. Is extremely fit and will be battling away.
Tip: 1. CANYONERO
Randwick R9 – BM72 Hcp (3YO+) 1300m
What the hell happened here? There were 17 starters and now only 6 after 11 scratchings occurred. MOLLYCODDLE is 2nd up and can win. Great 3rd this grade when resuming.
Her stablemate VUCETICH resumes here and should be flashing home now the field has fallen away.
TOO MUCH CAVIAR is lightly raced but showed some talent when last in work. Tough here but is on home track and trials were good. Respect.
Tip: MOLLYCODDLE
