Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Flemington | Wed 22nd Sept.

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s Flemington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: Out 14m entire circuit

FOREVER AND A DAY won her maiden at Geelong on debut then the stable thought enough of her to send to Adelaide for Group 3 company where she was not disgraced. Fresh and she can win this.

SAN TELMOS FIRE demolished a maiden field at Echuca on debut. She looks city class and with natural improvement will be right in the mix.

NEW YORK BABY raced up on the speed and stuck to task for good strong heavy track win on debut. Better from the race experience and she can win again.

LITTLE SCHNITTY is ready to break her maiden status. Comes off two strong country placings and would not leave her out of chances.

Tip: FOREVER AND A DAY

CONTEMPORARY was impressive winning a jump out down the straight. Damien Oliver jumps aboard and he goes on top on debut.

Gai Waterhouse produces NOMINATOR for the first time. Ridden along in recent Flemington jumpout and would keep an eye on any market moves.

YAKUTSK showed enough when given a good hit out in recent Sandown jumpout. From astute stable and must include in winning chances.
CAVALLA was competitive in same Sandown jumpout as Yakutsk. Ben Allen takes the ride at first start and would include in all multiples.

Tip: CONTEMPORARY

GET ON THE GAS chased home a couple of smart ones at Hillside last start and that made it two minor placings from both runs this time in. Comes into this primed third-up and he can get away with this.

ZERELLE was little out of his class when taking on Group 3 company last start. Drawn to get the perfect run from inside gate and he is ready third-up.

HE’S THE ULTIMATE did some work before powering away for dominant maiden win on the synthetic last start. This a tougher task but he can measure up to this.

TRAMONTANA started a short favourite last start and did not let supporters down sprinting away final stages for impressive maiden win. Drawn ideally and will make own luck going forward.

Tip: GET ON THE GAS

Liked the way MODEAR finished the race off back inside here last start and she grabbed a minor placing. Finds similar race and she will be right in the mix again.

ASHFORD STREET raced on speed before proving too strong at Bendigo two starts back then he just missed in driving finish at Cranbourne last start. Must include in chances.

OUR WIND SPIRIT has been racing in competitive form in better races than he finds here. Should find the outside rail down the straight and he can figure.

VERANSKOVA returned to the winners stall at Lakeside last start after racing consistently. Now she has won she can go on with it this prep.

Tip: MODEAR

BARB RAIDER gave them a galloping lesson at Hillside last start and was strong through the line suggesting she will be even better as she gets over longer distances. She is clear top pick.

BLACKCOMB was chasing home solidly when placed at Hillside last start. Comes into this ready third-up from spell and from ideal barrier she should get the perfect run in transit.

GONNADANCEALOT resumes from spell. She looked impressive finishing her two-year-old season with a soft win at Hillside over 1800m. Solid in recent trial in preparation and must respect fresh.

TIZ MY BAY comes into this ready third-up from spell. Liked the way she attacked the line when placed at Mornington last start and although still a maiden would not leave out of multiples.

Tip: BARB RAIDER

FOOTLIGHTS won his maiden with something in hand at Cranbourne first-up then he was doing his best work final stages last start. The further the better for this colt and he will be right in the mix.

GRINZINGER KING chased home strongly when getting his maiden out of the way at Geelong first-up. Sure to be better from the outing and he can measure up on his home track.

SAINT TROPEZ relished the heavy ground winning by a big space at Bendigo last start. He looks smart and out to the 1800m ideal.

GUNDEC only just missed behind Grinzinger King at Geelong first-up. Sure to strip fitter and expect him to figure in multiples.

Tip: FOOTLIGHTS

If EAGLES CRAG can somehow sneak into this field I think he can win this. Should have finished much closer at Hillside first-up when held-up early in straight before running on hard. Looks ideal Flemington horse and he goes on top.

MR BRIGHTSIDE beat Eagles Crag at Hillside two back then backed that up at The Valley last start with another clear win. That made it four straight and no reason he cannot win again.

ALCYONE showed a sharp turn of hoof to win at Hillside first-up from spell. Sure to be fitter and he will be hitting the line hard again.

NIKAU SPUR can mix his form but no doubting his ability. Strong to the line winning at Hillside last start and banking on him producing similar run in this field.

Tip: EAGLES CRAG

HE’S THE REAL DEEL started this prep in winning form with two dominant wins in town then he fought the race out strongly to just miss last start. Drawn perfectly and can get back to winning form.

YULONG STORM has been racing in consistent form and not been beaten all that far in better races than this. He gets back in winnable race and must include in winning chances.

TANKER only just missed in similar race on the synthetic at Ballarat last start. Going to need some luck from barrier but he is third-up and must be respected.

MOEEN looked like she would benefit from the run first-up at Lakeside when battled late. Looking for her to improve enough to figure in multiples.

Tip: HE’S THE REAL DEEL
