Muswellbrook R2 Mdn (3YO) Hcp 1000m
Tough race and there are two with a split hair between them. They are PLEADING and THE REGULAR SHOW. I’m on the latter because Pleading is resuming. This is because he has looked good in numerous trials but needs the run. Last start, the other bloke, The Regular Show, rattled home to grab 3rd in a solid maiden. What was most pleasing about the run was that it was his 3rd, and he is showing improvement. That sort of attitude helps in races like this. Quinella them up.

Muswellbrook R3 – Mdn Hcp 1500m
GALAXY BELLE has placed in this grade at past three starts. Latest two this time up and just has her foot on the till. Is never going to win a big race but is honest enough and does get home late. Races like this trip will suit. Doing best work from 5th on bend when red in a similar Scone maiden last start over 1400m. Perhaps throw in the well tried REACH BEYOND for the quinella.

Muswellbrook R6 – BM66 Hcp 1280m
All the way down the straight I’ll be watching for SAUSALITO to make his move, but hoping like hell he doesn’t make it strong enough to run down HARD FAITH. I map her being in front as they turn, kicking a length or so clear, and he being back last then hooking wide. To me Hard faith has just enough in the tank to hold him out. Koby Jennings is a very strong rider so he will coax her in to staying the course. But being third up Sausalito will strip very fit. Obvious quinella for mine.
