Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Hawkesbury on a Soft 6 this afternoon.
From Gr 1 juvenile racing in Brisbane yesterday to a maiden 2YO race here. And I like RUSSIAN RUBLE to land the bickies. He’s racing ed just the one for a strong finishing 4th in town and that experience should improve him a length or so. Additionally, this is 150m further and he looked like he needed the ground on debut. Drawn well, probably sits in 4th to the bend then will charge late. Let’s hope so.

Hawkesbury R3 – Prov & Ctry Mdn Hcp 1300m
I do like horses who have displayed talent while fresh. And we get a couple here who had only only the one start CONTRERAS and EXTRAVAGENT LAD. I like Contreras. The other bloke is a 2Yo while Contreras is a 3YO who made valuable ground late when 3rd at Gosford on debut. He’s still a colt so they must think highly of him. He is also trained at this track so that appeals to me a great deal. Will be better for his good debut run and looks very hard to beat today.

Hawkesbury R8 – BM64 Hcp 1800m
I will not go into this with a big bet but I will have something each way LASTING GRACE. On face value it appears hard to because she was on pace in an easier, shorter race last start and weakened right out of it. But she was 2nd up and it was a lightning fast track. She likes it wet. And her two wins have been on heavy tracks. Gets an almost heavy surface here and may just bowl along in front, left alone and take some catching.
