NBA Tips – Golden State Warriors V San Antonio Spurs

11:00 (AEDT) @ AT&T Center, San Antonio

History: Played 188: Spurs 114 V Warriors 74

Last Meeting: February 6, 2019: Warriors 141 d Spurs 102 at Oracle Arena

Final Thoughts: The San Antonio Spurs will attempt to continue their climb up the West standings when they take on the conference-leading Golden State Warriors.

For Aussie hoops fans, there’s the added interest of Sydney Kings star Andrew Bogut’s return to the Warriors on a short-term deal. He’ll line up against Spurs stalwart and fellow Boomer Patty Mills.

The 41-29 Spurs are sixth in the West and are on an eight-game winning streak. Their run has included the scalps of the Thunder, Nuggets, Bucks and, two days ago, the Blazers.

LaMarcus Aldridge, who is averaging 21.2 points and 8.9 rebounds, and DeMar DeRozan (21.6 pts, 6.1 reb, 6.1 ast) have formed a superb combination.

The 47-21 Warriors have won only half of their last 12 games. But road wins in their last two against the Rockets and Thunder – despite the absence of Kevin Durant, who is expected to return for this game – suggest the champs are ready to finish the regular season with a wet sail and lock down top spot.

Steph Curry dropped 33 points in the 110-88 win over the Thunder, while Klay Thompson top-scored in the Warriors’ previous three games.

The Warriors have won 13 of their last 16 against the Spurs, including comprehensive playoff series wins in the past two seasons.

But the Spurs have won their last two at home against the Warriors. They prevailed 104-92 in San Antonio in November, with LaMarcus Aldridge (24 pts, 18 reb) leading the way.

The Warriors responded with a 141-102 romp at home last month. Kevin Durant (23 pts, 9 ast, 8 reb) put up strong numbers in a dominant team display.

The Spurs are 28-7 at home and have not lost at AT&T Center since January 20, winning 10 straight since. The Warriors are an impressive 23-11 on the road, winning their last three away.

Golden State are 4-11 against the start in their last 15 games. San Antonio are 5-1 ATS in their last six at home and shape as a solid underdog option.

Tip: Handicap – Spurs +2.5 @ $1.85
