Final Thoughts: The Western Conference First Round series heads to Colorado with the Avalanche and Flames locked at 1-all.
The Flames powered to a 4-0 victory at home in Game 1, with Mike Smith making 26 saves and Matthew Tkachuk notching two goals.
It was an important momentum-turner for Calgary. They finished atop the Pacific Division with an 50-25-7 record, but won only half of their last 18 regular-season games.
The Avalanche bounced back in Game 2, however, snatching a 3-2 overtime win. Nathan MacKinnon scored the winner after JT Compher levelled the scores late in the third period.

Colorado secured the second Wild Card slot in the West, but they brought the momentum of eight wins in their last 11 games into the playoffs.
Despite the most recent result, the Flames have won nine of their last 11 against the Avalanche. They have also won four of their last five in Denver.
Calgary carved out a 3-2 overtime win at Pepsi Center in October, before downing Colorado in two regular-season games at home.
The Flames have lost four of their last seven on the road. The Avalanche are on a six-game winning streak at home.
The hosts shape as strong value to continue their late-season resurgence and put the acid on their higher-ranked opponents.
We’re back home and we’re excited.
