Final thoughts: The Best of the Day preview breaks down West Division rivals LA Kings’ and St Louis Blues’ bid to get back in the winner’s circle at each other’s expense. The teams’ clash two days ago was postponed due to the recent blizzards.
The 11-10-6 Kings sit fifth in the West Division after losing their last two matches to the Avalanche (2-0 and 4-1).

The 14-9-5 Blues are fourth but are winless in their last four. After three straight overtime losses, they were trounced 5-1 at home by the Golden Knights on the weekend.
The teams have already squared off on four occasions this season. The Blues won 4-2 and the Kings romped to a 6-3 win during a St Louis back-to-back in January.
A back-to-back at Staples Center a fortnight ago produced two overtime thrillers. The Blues won the first 3-2, with Mike Hoffman scoring the OT winner after David Perron had scored twice for the visitors in regulation.
But the Kings turned the tables 4-3 the following day as Adrian Kempe proved the overtime hero. Anze Kopitar had two goals and an assist for the Kings.
St Louis are likely to play Jordan Binnington in goal – and he desperately needs a form reversal after some recent subpar efforts. The Blues are conceding 3.2 goals per game (25th in the NHL).
Calvin Peterson, who is enjoying a solid campaign, looks set to get the nod as Los Angeles’ goaltender with Jonathan Quick still in the casualty ward. The Kings are conceding 2.9 goals per game (15th in the NHL).
The Blues have the attacking edge with 3.1 goals per game on average to the Kings’ 2.9.

The Kings are tempting $2.15 underdogs at home. But the teams are very difficult to split – and a punt on a bit of Best of the Day overtime could be well worthwhile.
