Palmerbet Sports Team’s Best of the Day preview has W-League tips for Sydney FC’s key derby clash with Western Sydney Wanderers.

History: Played 7: Sydney 6 V Western Sydney 0 (1 Draw)

Last Meeting: October 25, 2018: Sydney 3 d Western Sydney 0 at Marconi Stadium

Final Thoughts: Sixth-placed Sydney FC get a golden opportunity to keep pace with the W-League’s top four when they face rock-bottom Western Sydney Wanderers.

The only team without a draw this season, Sydney FC have won four and lost four of their eight games.

They bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Perth in Round 8 with an authoritative 3-1 defeat of Newcastle last weekend. US import Savannah McCaskill notched a brace against the Jets.

Sydney are ranked second for goals scored (20), led by Matildas reps Caitlin Foord (5) and Princess Ibini (4).

Wanderers remain winless, mustering just one draw in eight outings. They scored first against Melbourne City through Georgia Yeoman-Dale but eventually went down 2-1.

WSW have league-worst stats for goals scored (5) and conceded (17). But they have scored in four successive games after failing to register a goal in their first four games. Yeoman-Dale and Kylie Ledbrook both have two each.

The Sky Blues are undefeated in the Sydney derby. A draw in the 2015-16 season is the best Wanderers have managed.

Sydney FC carved out a 3-0 win in the 2018-19 season opener, with Foord scoring a goal in each half.

Sydney FC are prohibitively short $1.18 favourites and should get the result given the firepower at their disposal. But Wanderers’ improvement  in recent weeks will make it a decent contest.

Look to the over (five of Sydney’s eight games have produced four-plus goals) and the Both Teams To Score (Sydney have kept just one clean sheet this season) options for the best value.

Tip: Total – Over 3.5 @ $2.01
