The NFL’s Divisional Round threw up some incredible games this week including 41 unanswered points from the new Super Bowl favourites.

49ers Advance

In a round that threw up all sorts of unexpected moments, the San Francisco 49ers handled their business. Playing in their first playoff game in six years, the 49ers beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-10 with their defence offering plenty of reasons to be excited about their Super Bowl odds.

As perhaps the most complete team left, the 49ers are $1.30 and -7 favourites to extend their season through to the big dance.

Baltimore Bow Out

Just wow.

Did anybody see the Baltimore Ravens not only losing to the Tennessee Titans, but being comprehensively beaten?

Lamar Jackson is the NFL’s Most Valuable Player but he was below his best in the 28-12 loss. It’s another playoff failure for Jackson who has copped plenty in the aftermath of the loss.

Ryan Tannerhill, on the other hand, is playing a leading role in the latest Cinderella story.

The Titans were 2-4 before he took over and have since gone 9-3 beating the defending Super Bowl champions and previous favourites for Super Bowl LIV in the process. It’s been an incredible season for Tannerhill and the Titans. They’ll need another massive game as underdogs if they’re to keep their dreams alive, though. The Kansas City Chiefs are heavy $1.29 and -7.5 favourites for next week.

41 Unanswered Points

The Houston Texans scored 19 unanswered points to wipe away a 16-0 deficit last week. They were on the wrong side of the comeback this week despite going 24-0 ahead, though.

In a ridiculous run of seven consecutive touchdown drives, the Kansas City obliterated the Houston lead to score 41 unanswered points on their way to a 51-31 win.

They are the first team in NFL history to come from 20+ points behind to win by 20+ points themselves.

It came on the back of a Patrick Mahomes spray on the sidelines and resulted in him finishing with 321 yards completing 23 of his 35 attempts along with five touchdown passes. Travis Kelce was also outstanding for his game-high 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

This Chiefs offence is electric and the Total Points market is ready for them next week. The Total for Titans at Chiefs has opened at 51.

Packers Sneak Past Seahawks

It was a game that sums up the Green Bay Packers fairly well this season.

While they did end up beating the Seattle Seahawks 28-23, it wasn’t all that convincing. A strong start was almost wasted as the Seahawks mounted a comeback in the second half. Nonetheless, Aaron Rodgers did Aaron Rodgers things to throw a pinpoint pass to ice the game late and book a date with the 49ers.

While they are heavy underdogs next week against this very good looking 49ers defence, Rodgers ensures the Packers are always a chance at pulling off an upset.
