Fight Night 141 – Tips & Analysis: Curtis Blaydes vs. Francis Ngannou

03:00 (AEDT), Sun 25th Nov @ Cadillac Arena, Beijing

Career records:

  • Blaydes – 10-1-0 ( 8 by KO/TKO & 1 NC)
  • Ngannou – 11-3-0 ( 7 by KO/TKO & 4 by submission)

Last bout:

  • Blaydes def Overeem – Rd 3 TKO
  • Ngannou def by Lewis – Decision

Final Thoughts: Two of the heavyweight divisions most brutal fighters face off to inch closer to the illustrious heavyweight title.

Curtis “Razor” Blaydes is a completely different fighter since losing to Ngannou back in 2016. Both fighters were fresh on the UFC scene and Ngannou’s raw power proved too much for Blaydes to handle. Since then, Blaydes has a few more wins under his belt and has become a much more well rounded fighter.

With recent wins over Alexey Oleynik, Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem Blaydes has put himself very much in contention for a title fight.

Ngannou’s career trajectory has been almost the polar opposite of his opponent. Once touted as the future of the heavyweight division, a loss to former heavyweight champion Stipe Moicic put his championship aspirations on hold. While he is still an incredibly dangerous and capable fighter, Ngannou needs to find his groove, press forward and be aggressive to try and counter Blaydes’ superior ground game.

Expect both men to trade early although overall, Blaydes should have all the answers to nullify the power of Ngannou and we’re predicting he will take this fight out of the judges hands.

Tip:  Blaydes via KO/TKO/Submission @ $2.00

Fight Night 141 – UFC Tips & Analysis: Alistair Overeem vs. Sergey Pavlovich

02:30 (AEDT), Sun 25th Nov @ Cadillac Arena, Beijing

Career records:

  • Overeem – 43-17-0 (21 by KO/TKO, 17 by submission & 1NC)
  • Pavlovich – 12-0-0 (9 by KO/TKO)

Last bout:

  • Overeem def by Blaydes – Rd 3 TKO
  • Pavlovic def Sidelnikov – Rd 1 TKO

Final Thoughts: A battle of young and old will take place for the co-main event with Alistair Overeem taking on UFC debutant Sergey Pavlovich.

A veteran of 60 professional MMA fights, Overeem is coming off two spectacular losses against both Blaydes and Ngannou. He is a proven KO artist with the ground game to match although Overeem will need to  rely on his experience and wrestling to beat his younger opponent.

Pavlovich is a relentless striker. His power and ability to put together destructive combinations has given him an  opportunity he will need to take advantage of if he wants to make some noise in the UFC.

Although he has beaten all those who have come before him, Pavlovich hasn’t yet faced a fighter of Overeem’s calibre. As a result, Pavlovich will look to set the pace early and keep it standing up to find the early knockout.

Tip: Pavlovich via KO/TKO @ $2.20
