Final Thoughts: West Indies and Bangladesh both come into this Cricket World Cup showdown with one win and one point from a washout after four matches. Their hopes of a shock semi-final appearance could hinge on winning here.

The Windies started the tournament impressively with a seven-wicket win over Pakistan, who they bowled out for 105. But a 15-run loss to Australia was an opportunity that fell by the wayside.

But their clash with South Africa – who they would have fancied their chances against – was abandoned, before crashing to an eight-wicket loss to England. West Indies are sweating on Chris Gayle to go on to make a big score after making 50, 21 and 36 so far.

Bangladesh stunned South Africa by 21 runs first up, then pushed New Zealand all the way in a two-wicket loss. But they also came up well short against England, losing by 106 runs – despite a century from Shakib Al Hasan.

Tuesday’s scheduled clash with Sri Lanka was a washout.

Bangladesh has had the wood on West Indies at ODI level in recent times. They have won seven of the last nine 50-over clashes between the sides, including the last four straight.

Bangladesh will also take confidence from three victories over the Windies in Ireland last month in a Tri-Series tournament. West Indies opener Shai Hope posted scores of 109, 87 and 74 in those matches, however, while Bangladesh counterpart Soumya Sarkar made half-centuries in all three encounters.

The Windies are hot $1.44 favourites. They are undeniably enigmatic, but they are stacked with match-winners. but Bangladesh’s consistent, disciplined approach renders them a great chance of their second upset of the Cricket World Cup.

Tip: Result – Bangladesh @ $2.81
