Todays Palmerbet NBA Tips & Preview looks over Aussie’s Joe Ingles and Dante Exum, taking on big Blake Griffen and the Detroit Pistons. Will the “Splash Uncle” return to his 3 point draining ways and deliver the Jazz a win?

Final Thoughts: The twin towers of the Pistons head to Salt Lake City desperate for a win to get them back in the hunt for Playoffs. Currently sitting 9th in the Eastern Conference, they are a tale of two teams. Inside the paint, Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond are potent weapons. They absolutely dominate in the paint, averaging 42 points and 24 rebounds between them per game. Outside the paint, they’re not so hot. Double Reggies (Jackson and Bullock)
When you look closer at the Pistons, the + and – for their biggest players isn’t great. Drummond is the 31st ranked Centre, which is just not good enough. The double Reggie’s meanwhile are both horror shows on the defensive side of the court. Their reliance on Black Griffin gets really exposed when you look at the group in its entirety. Their 9th placing in their conference would be 14th in the other conference such is the stacked nature of the Western Conference.
The Jazz’s form has been a complete Yo-Yo. Sitting 10th in the West, they haven’t put together more than two wins on the trot since November. After their amazing performances over OKC in last years playoffs, expectations are much higher than the reality in 2018/19. Donovan Mitchell talked a big game in his rookie year and backed it up. He simply hasn’t improved this season because his +- minus has dropped from a Top 5 for Shooting Guards at 2.15 to 0.98.
The Splash Uncle, Joe Ingles is covering that drop well. Currently ranked 4th amongst small forwards, his 3.78 ranking is outstanding. He’s outperforming the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward and ROTY certainty, Luka Doncic. His stats are very similar to last year, but because he’s getting more attention, freeing up the rest of the court.
This one will really come down to what Jazz big man Rudy Gobert’s day is like. If he can contain Griffin and Drummond, then Ingles, Mitchell and Ricky Rubio will get the job done from the outside. The Jazz can get this done.
