Tuesday’s playoffs preview drives into the lane with NBA tips for Game 5 of the Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors.

History: Played 49: Warriors 29 V Raptors 20
Last meeting: June 8, 2019: Raptors 105 d Warriors 92 at Oracle Arena
Final Thoughts: The Golden State Warriors are on their last throw of the dice in their quest for a third straight NBA Championship. The Toronto Raptors took a commanding 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals after winning both road games against the depleted heavyweights.
The series was evenly poised after two games in Toronto. The Raptors opened up with a 118-109 win and the Warriors bounced back 109-105 in Game 2.
But the Raptors took the ascendancy with a 123-109 victory in Oakland in Game 3. Starting five Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry, Marc Gasol, Danny Green and Pascal Siakam all performed superbly. Meanwhile, Steph Curry’s 47 points was to no avail.
Klay Thompson returned for Game 4 and top-scored for the Warriors with 28, but he was powerless to stop a 105-92 loss. Leonard (36 pts, 12 reb) was dominant, while Serge Ibaka had 20 points off the bench.
Kevin Durant is reportedly set to play, but it is simply a Hail Mary play? Widely regarded as the NBA’s best player, KD has been on the sidelines for month and it would be ambitious to expect him to make up difference between the sides in his first game back.
The Raptors are 9-3 at home in these playoffs. The Warriors are 7-3 on the road. Golden State have won five of their last seven in Toronto.
Lean towards the Raptors to wrap it up and hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the first time as only narrow favourites. But if the Warriors go down, they’ll go down fighting. Count on Game 5 going down to the wire.
