Final Thoughts: The Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors are locked at 2-all in their Eastern Conference Semifinals series heading into Game 5. Both teams have notched a home win and an away victory.
The Raptors kicked off the series with a 108-95 win in Toronto. But the Sixers turned things on their head by snaring a 94-89 away upset, then taking a 2-1 lead with a 116-95 result back in Philadelphia.
Joel Embiid (33 pts, 10 reb) and Jimmy Butler (22 pts, 9 reb, 9 ast) were superb in the latter.
But Toronto struck back in Game 4 on the back of a searing performance from Kawhi Leonard. The marquee forward had 39 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists in a 101-96 win – after the scores were tied with a quarter to go. Embiid battled illness and his performance suffered.
Leonard is averaging 38 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in this series.
The Raptors have won 23 of their last 28 against the 76ers, but the last six have been split three apiece. The 76ers’ Game 2 success snapped a 14-match losing streak in Toronto.
The Raptors went 32-9 at home during the regular season, but have dropped two of their five games at Air Canada Center in the playoffs.
So much of the Raptors’ fortunes hinge on Kawhi – and the hosts are giving up plenty of points at the line. The Sixers are tempting with a start but a margin bet on Toronto may provide better value.
