Final Thoughts: The Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks gear up for the weekend with a massive Eastern Conference showdown.
The 42-23 Pacers are third in the East. They are 10-4 since the start of February but have lost three of their last five.
The Magic upset them at home last weekend, but the Pacers responded with a 105-96 win over the Bulls. With Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis sidelined, Bogdan Bogdanovic has been taking control, averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2 assists across his last five games.
The 48-16 Bucks still sit atop the conference. But after a 13-1 run, they lost their last two games on the road to the Jazz and Suns.
MVP contender Giannis Antetokounmpo racked up 43 points 14 boards and 8 assists against Utah, but has otherwise been quiet by his standards in recent outings.
The teams have played three times this season, with the ledger 2-1 in the Milwaukee’s favour. The Bucks won 118-101 at home in opening week. The Pacers turned the tables 113-97 in December, but the Bucks prevailed 106-97 in Indianapolis last month.
In the latter clash, Antetokounmpo put up 33 points, 19 rebounds and 11 assists.
The Bucks are 25-5 at home and have lost just one of their last nine in Milwaukee. The Pacers are 17-14 on the road but have lost five of their last eight away and are 3-10 against the line in their last 13 on the road.
The Bucks’ average home winning margin is 12.8 points and they have been one of the NBA’s top performers against the start. It’s a hefty line but one worth taking on.
