Final Thoughts: The Houston Rockets have a sweep of their First Round series against the Utah Jazz in their sights in Game 4.
The Rockets romped to a pair of big wins in Houston – 122-90 and 118-98 – then overcame a five-point halftime deficit to win Game 3 104-101 in Salt Lake City.
Houston linchpin James Harden had a big start to the series, most notably tallying 32 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in Game 2. He shot abysmally in Game 3 but the Jazz were still not good enough to capitalise.
After a quiet couple of games, Utah star Donovan Mitchell racked up 34 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in Game 3.
The Rockets have now won nine of their last 11 against the Jazz, including the last five straight.
Houston have also one 23 of their last 27 games this season. They have a 23-19 record on the road, but have only won four of their last seven away.
Prior to falling behind 0-3 in this series, the Jazz won 13 of their last 16 regular-season games. They are 29-13 at home this season; the Game 3 result represented their first loss in Salt Lake City in nine games.
But that frustrating loss opportunity may prove to be the back-breaker for the Jazz. They are unlikely to get another similarly gift-wrapped chance. The Rockets will be eager to wrap the series up ahead of a massive Semi-final assignment against the Warriors and again shape as a good bet against a small line.
